Survivor: Fiji Fanfic edit

Greetings! It looks the article you created at Survivor: Fiji Fanfic is a close duplicate of the content at Survivor: Fiji. Please explain what the purpose of this article is, as it currently seems redundant, and the title suggests that any additions will be original research. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 02:59, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, fanfic is not appropriate content for Wikipedia; see WP:NOT for a list of other content not to be placed in articles. Accordingly, I have proposed the deletion of both this and the Survivor: Belize Fanfic articles. —C.Fred (talk) 03:18, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Copyrighted pictures in your user space edit

Hello, I noticed that you had a couple of copyrighted pictures in your user space. Please not that this is not allowed, as it is a violation of copyright law. Fair use claims apply only to articles and cannot be extended to pages created in an editor's user space. I have removed the images. MfD nomination of User:SurvivorFANFIC and sub-pages edit

User:SurvivorFANFIC and the sub-pages containing Survivor fan fiction has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:SurvivorFANFIC and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:SurvivorFANFIC during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:03, 6 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Current licensing sections edit

Please do not add these Current licensing sections. It is prohibited by WP:PROMOTION. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:31, 29 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Mike. There can be one link to MTI's page for the particular show in the External links section, but only if there are no other links to MTI on the page. It should look like this: [url ''Hello Dolly''] at the Music Theatre International website -- Ssilvers (talk) 03:05, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
OK. Please check to make sure that MTI is not also cited in the text of those articles. If it is, don't add it to the External Links section. Happy editing! -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:16, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Please do not write "Licensing and performance rights". Please stick with just "at the Music Theatre International website". Please go back and take this out as soon as possible, so I don't have to reverse your edits. -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:00, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Aargh. I see that you are making a mess. Do not use <nowiki> tags. Why don't you do ONE and let's review it and make sure it is OK before you go ahead with the others. -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:57, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

I fixed The Drowsy Chaperone for you by moving the bracket. Check out what I did: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Drowsy_Chaperone&diff=566613699&oldid=566613616 -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:57, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
OK, The Fantasticks looks good. -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:57, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Mike. Please note that MTI should go below The Guide to Musical Theatre in the list of links. Thanks. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:07, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Junior versions edit

Please do not add a second link to "JR" versions. If the Junior version is extremely popular (let's say more than 100 productions), then it can be very briefly described in the article, followed by a link to your website. If it has not been very widely performed, it is not notable and should not be mentioned. In such a case, just say: A version of the show designed for middle and high schools has been performed widely in U.S. schools since [1992] that cuts the show to approximately ____ minutes but includes [most of] the songs.ref>[url Name of Show], MTI, accessed August ___, 2013</ref If there is something else notable about the version, you can say it, but it really needs to be notable, like "the adaptation was prepared by Stephen Schwartz". Do not mention MTI in the description, as it would be too promotional -- let the link speak for itself. -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:45, 9 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Opting in to VisualEditor edit

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 100 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:21, 11 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

MTI edit

Hi, Mike. No, I don't think a full (or long) list of shows licensed by MTI is encyclopedic. We already have a representative list in the MTI article. Of course, if you think the list does not give a good cross section, it can be modified, but the list is already probably too long. See WP:NOTLINK. I considered whether it might be permissible for you to create a separate List article that contains basically a list of all the shows licensed by MTI, but I am fairly sure that it would be prohibited under WP:NOTADVERTISING, which says: "Wikipedia is not a ... vehicle for ... advertising and showcasing." Also WP:ARTSPAM says: "Articles considered advertisements include those that are solicitations for a business [or] designed to promote a company.... Wikispam articles are usually noted for ... external links to a commercial website". WP:LINKFARM says "Wikipedia is not ... a repository of links". -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:37, 18 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Mike. New content would be great, too, as long as it's cited to reliable, third-party sources and helps to expand the article in a balanced, neutral way that adds important information about the topic, such as from feature articles about the company in, say, Crain's Business or New York magazine, or whatever. See WP:V for more information. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:43, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
