To "toe the line" means to follow something because you're ordered to, not because you believe in it. That was not vandalism, i suggest that you research before you become the Free Speech Police and declare vandalism because you don't like the way something is stated. From 70.179.189.48

Toe the line is an idiomatic expression (Toe the line). We should try to avoid using these on Wikipedia because they are often only understood by a certain culture or group of people. Whereas a native speaker may be able to easily interpret the meaning, a non-native speaker of English would not understand "toe," whereas follow would certainly be much more easier to understand. I might have warned you a bit harshly, but there was high vandalism occurring at the time, and it seemed like vandalism. Also, please do not remove warnings from your talk page. OK, seriously now: I'm concerned about your understanding of Vandalism[1], Mike! An IP editor DARES to change one word in an article, and you revert and put a vandalism template on his userpage[2]? And then you're suprised that he complains about the "Free Speech Police" and that he removes this ridiculous warning from his userpage [3]? Sry, but imho this isn't exactly a show of good judgment. Personally, as a noob editor, I think such treatment of casual contributors is unacceptable. Pls be more careful in your Anti-Vandalism work. And then good luck for the next RfA.   • Wait a bit longer before your next request. Many Wikipedians think that the length of time that users should be active on the project to get a firm grasp of all the policies and guidelines is roughly 3 months.
  • Try to make some more edits. Administrators need to show they have a thorough understanding of policy, so it would be a good idea for you to contribute in wikipedia space, article space and talk space to show you can communicate with others.

You may wish to take a look at the admin coaching program, which would allow you to have your own coach who could personally direct you along the right path, or consider an editor review, allowing other users to comment on your edits and give you ways to improve. The guide to requests for adminship provides further considerations to make before applying again. User:Syberwolff edit

I saw your warning at User talk:Syberwolff. I know I've been pushing the envelope in terms of revert warring but I've been doing it under WP:V on camera labels that have a clear and demonstratable history of being changed at a whim because people feel like it. I have meet obscene resistance in enforcing policy (I have spent way more time arguing than anything else) of citing questionable and contentious information (again, per policy).

What disturbs me is Syberwolff is REMOVING citations ([4] and [5]). I would block him but I am clearly an admin way too involved. Cburnett (talk) 03:08, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Advanced Technologies Academy edit

I dont know how to do this other then to edit your post. You say im vandalizing the Advanced Technologies Academy page, but I'm not. Someone took out the bit I added, so I put it back in. The "Awesomeness" award is legit, its a magnet school ran by computer geeks and the administration allowed us to make our own award system. Edit 1 was reverted as it appeared to be vandalism and were "nonsense." Edit 2 and 4 appeared to be "nonsense" and were unsourced. You may want to check WP:CITE to learn more about citing sources so that it is verifiable. However, edit 2 and 4 were also relatively non-notable as the "Awesomeness" award is only within your school. Edit 3 to KALS-TV was just a "pronunciation" of her name, which wouldn't be used in that situation, so it appeared to be vandalism and was reverted. See Wikipedia:Pronunciation about pronunciation. Almost all of the edits to Advanced Technologies Academy were vandalism or libelous, so the article is now semi-protected. Third Opinion Appreciated edit

I appreciate your offering a third opinion regarding the Ross Ice Shelf essay and the inclusion of the term point of no return in it. There is, however a subtle and important point that is being missed in the debate. The Ross Ice Shelf is not a first point in this journey. These voyagers went a long way to reach Antarctica in wooden boats and without the benefit of modern weather forecasting, radio communication, or nice jackets from Patagonia. Once there, they were committed. They could NOT have just jumped back on the boats. That would have been a significant undertaking. Often, the boats would be frozen into the ice or might have the potential to be badly damaged if they didn't stay where they were because of the ice. Being at a point in a journey where a pivotal decision has to be made that can result in preventing loss of property and life ... that is a point of no return. It is NOT a starting point.
