Your username edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "ClassicalMusicNews", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Jack Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Amccann421 (talk) 20:54, 18 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

My entries were more than substantially documented and referenced. I have ample knowledge of the life and career of composer Miguel del Aguila about whom I wrote. The purpose of most of my writings was to merely correct errors and omissions on a page about Latin American music and Music form Uruguay. I do not know why User:member 333dot blocked my account but it seems that this person is unfairly censoring and policing Wikipedia content to fit his/her own agendas whatever they may be. Please unblock my account

Decline reason:

331dot did not block you for one. For two, your entries do not appear to conform to WP:NPOV. Most are entirely unsourced, and the edit warring doesn't help. 331dot did not - and is not censoring wikipedia. I will not be unblocking your account today based on this request. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I did not block your account; I am not an administrator and have no power to block accounts. I also have no "agenda" other than looking to see that Wikipedia guidelines and policies are adhered to as best as is possible. 331dot (talk) 23:58, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
I would add that if you are not Miguel del Aguila, you should not be using his name as your username. That may also be why you were blocked, though I do not speak for the person that did block you. 331dot (talk) 00:01, 31 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

May 2016 edit

Hello, I'm 331dot. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Music of Uruguay, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Given your conflict of interest in writing about yourself(please review that policy), you should not be directly editing the article; instead please suggest edits on the talk page first. 331dot (talk) 16:45, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Music of Uruguay. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 16:53, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Coffee // have a cup // beans // 20:42, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Coffee: I would respectfully submit that the username seems permissible as it indicates a specific person at an organization(though it may have promotional intent). 331dot (talk) 21:40, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
Forget it; did some more looking around. 331dot (talk) 21:41, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
