mable lee edits, May 2022

edit

This page was edited on May 10th under the supervision of the class "Critical Race Theory and Tap Dance," for wikieducation. As professor for this class, I can assure you that the references are valid and correct.

the charge that the edits are "poorly-written content, gravely unencyclopaedic in tone": Perhaps you can point to the places where this is the case, or edit the "poorly written content." But if this is the case, I do not think it should mean that entire parts of Mable Lee's life that were researched through the top secondary sources on tap dance history (Constance Vallis Hill and Brian Seibert's books) or primary sources (from African American newspapers) are to be deleted. Please work with me on editing any "unencyclopedic tones" or "poorly written content." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Midukee (talkcontribs)

I just noticed this. You are not allowed to brute-force edit war using multiple IPs/accounts so that your preferred version prevails. This is a collaborative project. Your comment here would be seen by few. The place to submit it is the article talk page (Talk:Mable Lee). Also, your addition contained formatting errors, including to the article's very opening, so that would be disorienting to the reader in any instance. Finally, please sign your comment + timestamp, so that the record is clear (see WP:SIG on how to do so). Thank you. El_C 15:42, 24 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I'm new to this editing process and don't want an edit war. Will post there. Midukee (talk) 15:46, 24 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good. Please ensure you limit yourself to one account in the course of this. Good luck. El_C 15:48, 24 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
yes, will do. (we were in a computer lab when student first attempted updating...) Midukee (talk) 15:52, 24 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I see. I'll lift the p-block, then. But please work on gaining the consensus for your version before re-submitting it, though. Perhaps there's a good compromise that can be had (and ironing out any other issues, etc.). Regards, El_C 16:00, 24 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
yes, that's what I'm hoping too! thank you. Midukee (talk) 16:01, 24 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
You bet. Sorry for the harsh intro to the English Wikipedia. Hopefully, it'll be smooth sailing from this point on. Again, welcome! El_C 16:04, 24 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
