Speedy deletion nomination of Wildland Fire Lessons Learned Center
editA tag has been placed on Wildland Fire Lessons Learned Center, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Tarheel95 (talk) 16:14, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
This is not advertisement or promotion of any kind. If you can point out specific instances in my article that involve advertisement, i will delete them quickly. Also this is not a company, products, group, service or person. It is a government organization and that falls under none of the categories you listed. Instead of copying and pasting your version of "spam" into my talk section how about u specifically tell me how I am violating. Meskritt (talk) 23:51, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Talkback
editYou can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

editWelcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Wildland Fire Lessons Learned Center, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Glenfarclas (talk) 22:43, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
yep, sorry, i did not mean to remove it, i only meant to put the hang on tag on the page. sorry about that Meskritt (talk) 23:47, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
I have deleted said page, if and when we obtain permission to use the material from that website thru the process linked at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials and Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission the page can be easily restored. Also, be sure that it statisfies WP:NOTABILITY. Best Regards, Snowolf How can I help? 11:05, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Snowolf--- I don't understand why I have to go through this process since the material is not copyrighted. Meskritt (talk) 17:08, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
- To give you an example, in the United States all material is copyrighted automatically when it is written. In general it is difficult to sue for copyright violation unless you formally register the work with the Copyright Office, but the work is copyrighted nevertheless. See United States copyright law#Procedural issues. I'm sure similar issues may apply in other countries. Glenfarclas (talk) 17:30, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
