Help

How do I upload information about a company on Wikipedia? There are so many company pages on Wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Merlin Peter (talk • contribs)

Wikipedia does not merely have information about companies. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, that has articles about companies shown with significant coverage in independent reliable sources to meet Wikipedia's special definition of a notable company, written at WP:ORG. The significant coverage must be from source that have chosen on their own to write about the company; press releases, basic announcements, staff interviews, and other primary sources are not acceptable for establishing notability. Not every company merits an article here, even within the same field.

If you are associated with the company you want to write about, it is even harder to write about it. This is called a conflict of interest, and if you have one, you should not directly write about your company.

Successfully writing a new article about any subject is the hardest task on Wikipedia. I would suggest that you take some time to learn about the process first, both by using the new user tutorial and reading Your First Article. 331dot (talk) 11:13, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
