Proposed deletion of Alfred A. Marcus

edit

The article Alfred A. Marcus has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

This biography of a living person cites no reliable sources, and therefore may be deleted per the WP:BLP policy. Further, the article does not establish that the subject has sufficient notability to merit an article per the guidelines at WP:PROF.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.

Please note that self-published sources, such as articles written by the subject of the biography or web pages maintained by the subject (or his employer) are not considered reliable sources, and will not meet the requirements of the WP:BLP policy. To avoid having this article deleted, your best bet is to examine WP:PROF and determine which of those criteria are satisfied by Marcus, identify reliable sources to document that eligibility, and add the information to the article with proper footnotes. Although there are external links in the article, they are not reliable sources, nor are they proper references as required by Wikipedia policy. // ⌘macwhiz (talk) 03:01, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Alfred A. Marcus for deletion

edit

A discussion has begun about whether the article Alfred A. Marcus, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alfred A. Marcus until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. -- Cirt (talk) 15:32, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
