Hi Mellothumb. You undid an edit on Fingerlings, stating it was irrelevant. I do find this irksome. The reason I think it WAS relevant is that the title of the album, reflected the artist's own view of their recording.I have absolutely no inclination to get involved in an edit war but I do wish that you'd have had the courtesy to discuss this before your own edit. How many people do you know who know what a fingerling is? I really do feel you should reconsider. Jatrius (talk) 02:25, 30 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hey Jatrius, thanks for bringin' this up. The reason I removed that is because it didn't seem to make sense to me within the article. Where does it say that Andrew Bird chose this title for the recording to reflect his own view? If that's true, it would make sense to me to include it in the article, but with specific reference to Andrew Bird's stating of this. The word "fingerling" in fact has several different meanings, why are we assuming that the album is named after small fish and not instead small potatoes or the finger accessories known as fingerlings?Basically it didn't have context within the article. You didn't say "The album is named after these small fish", you just said "Small fish have the same name as this album" which seemed really out of place to me. Sorry for not discussing this first, though, I definitely should have. Mellothumb (talk) 22:31, 2 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi Mellothumb. Fair enough. It was clunky. No big deal. Meant it as an aside, anyway. It was in a music mag at the time but I can't lay my hands on it so I'm unable to cite a ref. for you. It's not so much 'a small fish' as 'a small fish about to enter the ocean, having completed its first (juvenile) stage of growth'. Regards, Jatrius (talk) 02:55, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
