Article needs more references.

Hi, I am trying to submit an article on Ruth Giddings but I'm told that I haven't enough references or enough references in the right places. (I have made minor edits for years but this is my first contribution). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Ruth_Giddings

I never look up information that is well-known so I assumed there was an entry. A colleague in work remarked that a particular rugby player was the best Irish competitor ever and I said that I thought that Ruth Giddings had represented her country better. He said he never heard of her and I said "I'm sure she is in Wikipedia" and she wasn't. I have books listing her achievements in a tabular format where it shows who won such-and-such a cup in various years and she wins every second year during her peak period.

Could you please tell me if you think she isn't noteworthy enough or, if she is, how can I make dry statistics accessible and relevant? Thanks Eamonn

p.s. I am not related to her but my late father (who also played for Ireland) played with her and was of the opinion that she was for many years the best bridge player, male or female, in Europe. She was only held back by the lack of a partner of sufficient calibre.

@Eamonnor: I've added a ref I found and started formatting a little. ~~There's another Irish Times article that would be helpful to access, but I can't get full access. It's by Seamus Dowling and was published on 1 December 2015. Can you try to get access?~~ Also, we need to cite all of the other stats. Forget the Dec 1 request. I see from the abstract I can access that we're talking about the same article which you pasted above. I'm going to remove the copy and paste from my talk page, though, since it's probably a copyvio to do that. Next time email me the copy. It's fair use to email full text of sources for these purposes since we're not "publishing." :) Megalibrarygirl (talk) 15:47, 31 December 2019 (UTC)

No worries, Eamonnor! I think it's just best to be safe than sorry! The Wikipedia community is very rightly concerned about copyvios and I try to maintain that perspective myself. It's a learning process. My most recent article written today, is already up for deletion despite having perfectly good referenced sources written around her for suitable notability. This is a reaction to a poorly referenced article deleted previously (not my work). Patricia was part of Netflix Sex Education (TV series) which is one of the most watched ever.I would be very grateful if you could assist prevention of this deletion, especially considering Patricia is female and of mixed ethnicity, could be some element of discrimination.
