Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: Username is a corporate name and seems to match the products and technologies you have on your userpage. Also, it appears that a number of the short new articles you are creating may be related to technologies used by your company.. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you for mentioning about the username, I will change it soon.

Two problems

edit

One problem is your username. You need to apply to change that, since it's a company name and you have been editing about products and processes related to that company.

The other is the deleted article, which was deleted as an obvious advertisement for MDI Products. If you get a new, more acceptable username, I would consider restoring that article to userspace, as long as you understood that all mentions of MDI and its products must be removed from the article before it is acceptable for use here. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:34, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm confused. Did you set up a new account, instead of asking for a change of username? --Orange Mike | Talk 16:13, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
The new account is definitely the way to go. --Orange Mike | Talk 12:47, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Because your account was used for promotion of a company, group, product or organization with a username that promotes or implies affiliation with the aforementioned. Wikipedia does not allow any form of spam or other promotion of people, products, companies or other groups (even non-commercial or charitable ones). Using Wikipedia for such purposes will result in the blocking of the account involved. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for our policies about this.

In addition, user accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing. Your username should reflect this. Usernames that appear to be promotional (such as those that make reference to a company or product) violate our username policy and are typically blocked to enforce that policy.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Tell us what new username you want to use. Please make sure that your new username does not violate our username policy and check that it has not already been taken (click here to search).
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

If instead you believe that you have been blocked by mistake (i.e., you have not in fact been using Wikipedia for promotional purposes), please write {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this message box and replace the text "Your reason here" with the reason why. See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:40, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reinstating My Article

Proposed deletion of Cell density

edit

The article Cell density has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This seems to fail WP:NOTDICT and WP:DIRECTORY. Wikipedia is not a dictionary, or a directory of everything that exists or has existed.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Tim Song (talk) 23:51, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Revision

edit

I am new to wikipedia and this my first article. I have now revised version of this article and I am trying to remove all commercial aspects from it. This article has lots of good information and technical details of the current advancement in foam technology. I assure you that it will not be a commercial advetisement of any business. Please allow the editing access to this article. Thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mdiproducts (talk • contribs) --Orange Mike | Talk 19:42, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

You were instructed some time ago that this was an unacceptable username, yet you never changed it. MDI Products is a commercial company, and this account must remain blocked. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:42, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry I was not able to make changes long time, but today I sat down and started making lots of changes to make it more informative and removed all commercial aspects of it. But may be changes were not saved and I lost all of them.I want to do it again. Earlier I made another account username:Nirmaljaya and I was thinking to reinstate this article over there after changes. But if you want me to change the username, please change it or let me change it and advise me how I would do it. New username:flexiblefoam, thank you

You should have been using the account User:Nirmaljaya, and not this one; the worst and most confusing thing you could do would be to create a third account, especially with such a bad username (too spammy). Use the User:Nirmaljaya account and no other. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:07, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Nirmaljaya/MDI Products

edit

A tag has been placed on User:Nirmaljaya/MDI Products, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
