Proposed deletion of Scott Erickson (musician)

edit

The article Scott Erickson (musician) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. References for biographies of living persons (BLP's)

edit

Greetings, congratulations on creating the article Scott Erickson (musician). This article needs to cite secondary sources as discussed in WP:CITE. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. Regards! Jminthorne (talk) 21:23, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi - I'm kind of new to this part of editing. I'm not even sure if this is the way to communicate with you. I'll be happy to make any modifications, but I'm not quite certain about the specific formatting you want me to do. Particularly, 'in-line.'

Thanks!

No problem, and yes, this is a great way to communicate with me (or anyone else that has contacted you on your talk page). For an example of how to format references, look at the Barry Manilow article. All that is in the "Reference" section is the {{reflist}} tag; the references are surrounded by <ref>...</ref> in the article itself at the footnotes are automatically generated. WP:REF contains detailed instructions for different kinds of sources. Jminthorne (talk) 23:27, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Also, on talk pages remember to sign your posts with four tildes: ~~~~. Jminthorne (talk) 23:28, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think I got it. Let me know if you'd like any other revisions. Thanks again! VERY helpful!--Mcbryde626 (talk) 23:52, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I just saw that you removed the official site external link. That would probably be good to keep on the page in the external link location. Should it be removed as a reference then? Thanks!--Mcbryde626 (talk) 00:07, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Better to keep it as a reference and not have it as an external link. Jminthorne (talk) 00:12, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK - I'm about done for the day. Let me know if there's anything else. Otherwise, thanks again!!!!!!--Mcbryde626 (talk) 00:18, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hey - just checking back to see if there's anything else that needs additional formatting attention. Many thanks!--Mcbryde626 (talk) 23:24, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Add a citation

Could you please provide a reference for your change of the producer from Clive Davis to Scott Erickson on In the Swing of Christmas. Thanks. Shadowjams (talk) 22:02, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please also note that per WP:CIRCULAR, wikipedia should not be used as a source for other wikipedia articles. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this, and again, welcome! Jminthorne (talk) 22:34, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I added a citation from Allmusic.com. Does this work for you?--Mcbryde626 (talk) 23:52, 25 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
