Redmen logo

Hi. Welcome, again, to Wikipedia. I hope things are off to a good start.

You may have noticed that the McGill Redmen logo on your user page was removed. That happened because the logo is actually copyright. Copyright images can only be used on Wikipedia when it meets a specific set of Non-free use criteria. If you look at the image page you can see that someone filled out a form explaining how it meets those criteria, for each page it's used on. Pages that aren't articles - like your user page - can't include non-free content. This is even true for drafts in your sandbox. This is a common mistake for new Wikipedians, and you shouldn't worry about it, but you should try to pay attention to this moving forward.

As an aside, your user page is starting to look a bit like an article. While it's nice to use your user page to tell the world about yourself, it's important that people don't confuse it with an encyclopedia article. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:36, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
