Bonjour, En-bateau ! Unfortunately your collage has been put up for deletion, presumably because of some copyright issues in compiling the image. When you used the flickr images, did you check the copyright types? BTW, bienvenu à l'encyclopédie anglophone ! (Je vois que tu utilises le même pseudo sur la wikipédie française.) The two photographs are originally from http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicsuzor/345924229/sizes/o/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/20661491@N04/2149566044/sizes/o/ and I thought that Commons accepts CC-BY and CC-BY-SA licences. Bonsoir. There are 2 different categories for flickr that can be put on WP, "attribution license" and "attribution-sharealike license" (the first and last here). Apparently it's not permitted to mix the two licenses in a collage. I liked your collage for other French cities more than the one for Marseille. Some time back I searched the two categories on flickr, but the really nice pictures (eg night-time shots of Cours Julien) were unfortunately not in this category. Ancient Persian problems

You recently contributed to an AfD discussion on an article about ancient Persian history. I have been reviewing the contributions of the editors who have been involved in these and other related articles, and have found a considerable number of issues - bad writing, original research, lack of sourcing or citations, and POV problems. I don't have any personal problems with you at all. My advice would be to stay away from the Persian history articles for just a little bit and find somebody to adopt you. Locating sources can be quite hard: for example, without a dedicated academic database, it's probably not so easy to access some specialist texts on ancient history on the web. I made similar remarks to Jonathan Hochman off the WP:AN/I page, because that is far too public a venue to discuss this kind of thing. As you noticed, people might seem to be crowding in on you, making incorrect inferences. That is one of the huge disadvantages of the public noticeboards, where things can randomly spiral out of control. My only advice on contributing is: find your first class secondary source or sources, and then write your article using these. Good luck, Mathsci (talk) 19:08, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

So I have a solution now, I will spend half the time seeing what mess is going on, because I can always recreate articles, and spend the other half working on my drafts, so thanks for giving me advice, I will now follow it to the best of my ability. Hi Mathsci, this was the problem: there was no colon at the front of "Category:Battles involving the Achaemenid Empire" when someone added it, and it was Wikilinked, so it added her talk page into the category. Typing in "[[:Category:Battles involving the Achaemenid Empire]]" will add a link to the category, but not add the page to it, while "Category:Battles involving the Achaemenid Empire" will add the page to the category. I only found this out about categories by accident, and my talk page was in "Wikipedian user boxes" for a long time. :) Best wishes and happy editing to you. Acalamari 00:27, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Interestingly enough on my long 17 hour train journey from Vienna through the Tyrol and Switzerland and then along the Rhone to Aix that ended just over an hour ago, a priest opposite me in the train was reading a very thick book on Babylon. Two days earlier I came face to face with the cylinder of Nebuchadnezzar II in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. Real life can sometimes eerily echo editing on wikipedia.
