Persistent reversions and deletions of edits edit

Please see the following template: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Olympic_Games

Within that template, which is far more over-reaching and authoritative than any of the footers for any of the gymnastics-related topics, you can see there that the years that the Olympics were not held, 1916, 1940, and 1944 for the Summer Olympic Games, and 1940 and 1944 for the Winter Olympic Games, DO INCLUDE years during which there was no competition. Anybody with any common sense knows that those Olympiads were not held due to WWs I & II. But those years are still listed so that the templates are *complete*. The edits I have made regarding Template:Footer Olympic Champions - Artistic Gymnastics - Individual All-Around - Women - makes that template more *complete*. They also help fill in the information gap because the reasons that those competitions were not held are not obvious to the average, uninformed reader. My edits improve the completeness of information on Wikipedia.

I can see that you are a new user. As a new user, a very good guide for you to use is the following: Template:Wikipedia_policies_and_guidelines

Within that template, there is a policy Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers which is what I am trying not to do right now. But I must advise you that the general aim of Wikipedia is to provide more information and more complete information, rather than obfuscating it, especially for inconsistent reasons (which is what you are doing - first you reverted my edits due to your assertion that templates should only show medalists, but now you are using the rationale of inconsistency with other templates, which rather than deleting the information I have added, you could improve the other templates the way that I have with the templates in question). But if you do any further re-deletions on the edits you keep disagreeing with me on regarding Template:Footer Olympic Champions - Artistic Gymnastics - Individual All-Around - Women and 1932 Summer Olympics, without 1) either engaging other editors and administrators in a discussion about the edits in question before making a complete deletion of a substantive edit (which you have failed at all to do so far) or 2) showing that you have further educated yourself on basic Wikipedia policies and guidelines regarding editing and etiquette (which you so far have not cited at all), then I will go beyond words and start taking actions regarding the lack of experience you are showing.QuakerIlK (talk) 01:36, 26 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
