To our newest Rollbacker edit

I have just granted you rollback rights because I believe you to be trustworthy, and because you have a history of reverting vandalism and have given in the past or are trusted in the future to give appropriate warnings. Please have a read over WP:ROLLBACK and remember that rollback is only for use against obvious vandalism. Please use it that way (it can be taken away by any admin at a moment's notice). You may want to consider adding {{Rollback}} and {{User rollback}} to your userpage. Any questions, please drop me a line. Best of luck and thanks for volunteering!   upstateNYer 01:12, 29 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Germans picture edit

Please read the discussion page under Germans! This topic was discussed before and since there have long time disagreement about doing Hitler in the picutre and stuff like this. A "everyday-life"-picture of Germans is a better option. For a good accample of a nation picture see the Dutch people side and for bad one see -Icelanders - for example 2 very unimportant beauty queens or look the Norwegians page befor I removed the Norwegian American pictures. I will revert it again without waiting for your answer like you did (oterhwise a prever a preview discussion). 195.243.51.34 (talk) 09:45, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:18, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for August 28 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ghost Force (novel), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages National Security Advisor and Manhunt (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Image array vandalism edit

This report relates to the following pages:

They both contain image arrays (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Image_array)

When viewing those pages as a logged in user, they appear as normal.

When viewing those pages anonymously (non logged in) certain image arrays redirect to this image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Middle_finger2.jpg.

This issue may be occurring on other pages - the 'middle finger' page indicates that More than 100 pages link to this file.

I would fix it myself, but it's not clear to me how or why it's happening.

The image was vandalized onto the template yesterday, and it has since been reverted. However, due to how MediaWiki caches pages, the revert will unfortunately not be immediately visible everywhere. If you stumble across a page that still has the vandalized template, you'll need to purge the cache. There is a thing called forcerecursivelinkupdate (Wikipedia:Purge#forcerecursivelinkupdate) that allows you to automatically purge every page that transcludes a given template, and I've gone ahead and run that on {{Image array}}. However, it may take some time for the server to reparse all those pages. Mz7 (talk) 06:17, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Note: The above was originally at WP:AIV, but I've moved it here so that it isn't on the highly visible noticeboard. Mz7 (talk) 06:20, 20 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
