Tips edit

Sure! Welcome to Wikipedia! Some pages you may want to browse/visit are...

  • WP:SB. That is the Sandbox, where you can test the coding of Wikipedia.
  • WP:NOT. That is a guideline saying what Wikipedia isn't; for example a dictionary or blog.
  • WP:Introduction. The Introduction for new users.
  • WP:FIVE. The five pillars or main rules of Wikipedia.
  • WP:HOW. How to edit a page, and a description of some basic wiki code commands.
  • WP:HELP. The contents of pages about the guidelines, rules, and coding of Wikipedia.
  • WP:DEV. About making/improving articles.
  • WP:MOS. The Manual of Style.

About posting messages on talk pages, you were doing it already. Next time, put ~~~~ at the end of each message, so users who read the message will know who wrote it.

At the Recent Changes, you can see the most recent edits and who made the edit.

I reccommend you create your user page, so we can learn more about you. WP:UP has information about user pages and the rules for user pages. At WP:UB, you can learn about Userboxes, which are small boxes that you can put on your user page that include information about you.

You can learn about making pages, and why they might be speedy deleted at WP:SD.

There are many policies about one of Wikipedia's biggest issue, vandalism. Vandalism is when a page is ruined by a user. Vandals get 4 warnings before being blocked. Read WP:VAN for more info. A vandal keeps vandalising, report them at WP:AIV. If a user has an innipropriate or disturbing username, report them at WP:UAA. Vandalism can include...

  • Personal attacks.
  • False information.
  • Biased content.
  • Random gibberish.
  • Blanking of pages.
  • Unexplained removal of content.
  • Testing of codes
  • Removing references.
  • Spamming/advertising off-topic or unuseful external links.

I hope this helps, Alxeedo TALK

Hi Matt, I noted on the article talk page why I moved the page back from your spelling. Best regards Hekerui (talk) 20:31, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

That's fine - I really am terrible at editing on WikiPedia! Thanks for correcting me. Manumatthew (talk) 20:44, 16 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
