You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Ahmad ibn Hanbal. Thanks. Some sources say that his mother became pregnant in Merv, but gave birth in Baghdad. There are also a few sources that say he was of "Arab background", while other sources call him of "Persian background". For the sake of NPOV, and in order to compromise, we could report both versions in a neutral manner, I'll re-write the section tomorrow.--Mardavich 06:27, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Egyptian Arabic

Egyptian Arabic (Maṣrī مصري) is an Arabic dialect.

• The only language to branch out of Arabic is Maltese. Can you please help me organize these articles?.

Attempts to reduce the Arabic language status

A user known for his/her Anti-Arab agenda made it his/her mission to claim that all Arabic dialects are independent languages, starting with Egyptian Arabic dialect. Egyptian Arabic (Maṣrī مصري) is an Arabic dialect. has to be clearly emphasized in the Egyptian Arabic article

Can you please help Zerida (and her sock-puppets) understand that Egyptian Arabic is a dialect, I think she is already taking it personal! (Egyptian Arabic)I mean once they declare every dialect a Language I will have a beautiful resume with 22 languages on it, but as of now unfortunately the constituition of Egypt and every Arab nation only recognizes one Arabic language as the only Arabic language!--Skatewalk 18:05, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

List of Arabic Names (Old Version)

I just noticed what had happened to the Arabic name list, and from the discussion page it looked like you were a major contributor to the old, and far better, version. Since you don't allow for contact by e-mail, I figured I'd ask through this venue: Do you happen to have any of the material you contributed to the old version of the article lying around on your hard drive? If so, I'd much appreciate it if you could send it to me via email, just follow the link to my user page, etc. And even if you don't have any of the material left, please let me know that as well.

Muslim Feminist?

How can you be both? Reading some text, I found the following...

Sura (4:11) [6] - "The male shall have the equal of the portion of two females"

Sura (2:228)[7] - "and the men are a degree above them [women]"

Sura (24:31)[8] - Women are to lower their gaze around men, so they do not look them in the eye.

Sura 2:282 [9] - A woman's testimony is worth only half that of a man's in court.

Sura (24:13) [10] - Proving rape requires 4 male witnesses "Why did they not bring four witnesses of it? But as they have not brought witnesses they are liars before Allah."

Arab People

Hello. I have seen that you made some very good contributions on the Bedouin talk page, and you clearly know your stuff about our people (Arabs). Can I please request that you help me out on improving that article, if you have the time and energy to spare? The article on Arab People seems to have somehow been corrupted into an article about the people in the Arab world (Kurds, Berbers etc.), each of whom already have a page dedicated to them. As I hope you also know, the article is also being plagued by Nationalism - based on the fictitious countries created post WW1, and hordes of Arab Nationalists with identity crises trying to prove that Arabs are infact a Panethnicity made from smaller non-existant ethnicities like "Jordanian" etc... I have written a message there expressing what I know so far about the Arab people here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Arab_people#Confused_Article Regardless if you agree with me or not, can I again please ask for any help you can contribute to help fix this important, yet terribly written article? Bedouin and Arab articles

Hello, I have seen some of your contributions in the Bedouin talk page, and you certainly seem very knowledgeable on the subject. Sadly, I am sure you're aware, both articles are plagued with ridiculous unsourced, or badly sourced claims that seem designed to further the agendas of various anti-Arab Middle-Eastern nationalists and proponets of racial pseudo-science. I'd just like to bring to your attention, and I'd greatly appreciate your help with, the opening sentences of both articles:

- On the Bedouin article, someone keeps editting it to state that they are a "ethnocultural group", something which is synonymous with ethnoreligious groups - something whih Bedouins clearly aren't (there are multiple faiths as far as I know). I have started a section for it in the Talk section, but whoever is editting isn't engaging in discussion.

- The lead to the Arab page states that Arabs are a Pan-Ethnic group, with the source being the writings of one medical doctor, whose claims are not echoed anywhere else. If Arabs are indeed a Pan-Etnic group, how could we distinguish the Arab-speaks whose origins aren't the Arabian Peninsula, from those who originated from there? The article seems more geared to representing the former group, and people like the Berbers, who have their own article, than Arabs who originate from the tribes of Arabia.
