Welcome!

edit

Hello, BoschStiftung, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Robert Bosch Stiftung, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hi! Sorry about the pre-packaged template above – it does contain number of links you may find useful. There two problems here: your username implies shared or institutional use, which is not permitted under our policy (I know that it works differently on de.wp). The other is that your account seems to be used by a group – you wrote here "... as the online team of the Robert Bosch Stiftung, we would like to suggest some changes ...". That also is absolutely not allowed here, user accounts are strictly for individual use only; you may not share your log-in details with anyone else.
To change your username, please follow the simple procedure here; or, if you prefer, simply say here on this page what username you want and I'll do it for you (provided you choose a name that's acceptable, of course!). Please don't make any other edits under this name. If there is more than one of you then each one must create a separate account; there's no obligation to use either a real name or a name linked to the Stiftung. If you have questions, please ask them here – I should see that you have done so. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 16:10, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.
On English Wikipedia, team accounts and shared accounts are forbidden by policy, as are accounts that represent the name of an organization or business. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:34, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

This account is operated by an employee of the Robert Bosch Stiftung. It´s a personal account which is not shared with others but as mentioned on the User page, I have been paid by Robert Bosch Stiftung for my contributions on Wikipedia. As I wasn´t familiar with the username policy in the english Wikipedia, I apologize for any irritations that may have caused. My intention is to provide the Wikipedia community with current information about the Robert Bosch Stiftung and its work and help to update the article about the foundation. From now on, I will not edit the article directly, but I would be happy to make suggestions on the talk page on how to improve the article. I´m looking forward to the collaboration!

Accept reason:

Per the discussion below, I will remove the block. Please ask if you have questions. 331dot (talk) 16:15, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

If I change the username, it will change it for all Wikipedia projects, do you understand this? If you would rather not take over the company account on all versions of Wikipedia, we can alter the block to permit you to create an individual account and leave this account blocked.

Regarding your request, do you understand that Wikipedia primarily summarizes what independent reliable sources state about article subjects, not what a subject wants to say about itself? That's not to say input is not welcome from the subject, only that it needs to be(if at all possible) sourced to what others say about your company, not what it says about itself(it is free to speak about itself on its own website). Primary sources are only acceptable in certain circumstances. 331dot (talk) 09:04, 19 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I am aware of that and I accept that the change will also apply on other Wikipedia projects. Furthermore, I understand that it is better to integrate independent sources in a Wikipedia article. Unfortunately, there are less english sources about the foundation but maybe it would be an option to cite german sources as well. BoschStiftung (talk) 11:14, 22 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sources do not need to be in English. It helps, but is not required.331dot (talk) 13:44, 22 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
