Kayak roll edit

Maestro_magico-----I am Judd Smith, the editor to whom you directed an e-mail (without including your own return e-mail) in criticism of edits to the "Kayak Roll" article. First: The edits were mere "light edits" with the intent of correcting my own un-gramaticisms and making existing text more readable. Second: I am The Editor.....who developed the entire current iteration of the page (..sometime around November of last year). Third: If you have any specific complaints, please reference the lines/text to which you complain and explain why. Fourth: What IS the "wiki hierarchy" that authorizes you to "issue warnings?" Fifth: I hope that this, my reply to you, is couched in the correct format. In other wiki-TEXT I was advised that if I navigated to your USER page, I would find a link "e-mail this user" which would enable direct interaction with you. Search-as-I-might, I found no such link (or any other REPLY/MESSAGE utility for that matter) on your USER page. If this is the "correct" method provided by Wiki for one editor to address another, fine. But my direct e-mail address is: (((REMOVED)) -----My authority to speak about kayaking and the Eskimo Roll derives from a very "high-angle" whitewater career from 1972-forward......and years of teaching the Eskimo Roll for, among others, The Sierra Club San Francisco Bay River Touring Section. Finally: I find the m e t h o d you chose for your address to me, to be imperious and unjustified. — Preceding unsigned comment added by

First, the revision WP:STiki showed me had very bad grammar, so I reverted it.
Secondly, this is Wikipedia...anyone can edit anything.
Thirdly: Sorry, STiki is somewhat limited to doing that - so that is out of my control.
Fourthly, anyone can give a warning to a user if there is a legit reason.
Fifthly, it'd just be nice if you'd post me a message on my talk page (which is what you did) :).
Maestro magico (talk) 21:41, 24 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Maestro_magic: First: The TEXT of your reply is open evidence of your own laziness and incompetence. Second: The most intelligent reaction of an editor finding grammatic error......is to correct the error, not "scrub" the page. Third: Therefore, not having done the intelligent thing, but rather the stupid and lazy thing, you have wilfully damaged a wiki page for no justifiable reason. Fourth: Your assertion that you can damage wiki pages because..."this is Wikipedia...anyone can edit anything" is beathtakingly specious. Fifth: You did not "edit" a thing. You reverted a page out of pure un-mindful arrogance.

Therefore sixth: I request that you return to the page and return it to the state you found it. Then seventh: I request that you "edit" any grammatic error...I request that you correct any spelling... Finally Eighth: I request that you conform your future behavior to match that of an editor, rather than emulate conceit and egoism.

.........AND in signing myself......I do note that you conceal your identiy behind a facade.....I take further note that you have not included an e-mail address. Have you no courage. Are you afraid of things-that-go-bump-in-the-night? Are you NOT WILLING TO STAND PUBLICLY for the things you say and do? — Preceding

Please keep things civil. If you personally attack me again I have the right for an admin to get involved. They can block you. Also, real names are not recommended on Wikipedia. And I can edit your page. If you refuse anyone else to edit your page then you are violating WP:OWN. Maestro magico (talk) 16:39, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Maestro_magic.......your response above is a logical nonsequitur. You are quite welcome to take the text of this page to an administrator within the context of a personal attack charge. In private-address (no witnesses but the two conversants) what I have said is a challenge to you, not a personal attack. Your behavior in this matter is sophomoric. This isn't High School, Maestro-magic...!!!....

Most pointedly, your behavior has been exactly as I have earlier described it: lazy and non-responsive. When you find error anywhere in Wikipedia.....it's your duty to change-it-if-you-can. Spelling and "grammaticisms" are clearly (I hope) within your "can-do" reservoir of talent. Therefore as pointed out above, your DUTY is --and always will be-- to EDIT.

And not once in this exchange have you identified those un-grammaticisms to which you take issue.

Look, dude, you have a duty to go back to that page and restore it. Then edit what errors you find. You have a responsibility of COURTESY to (in areas that are not grammatic but to which you have question) to address me in text that is clear and concise explaining (why/what/that-which) makes you uneasy or dissatisfied. In doing so you would DO ME THE SERVICE of acting as a wiki-advisor (rather than a wiki-sophomoric cop).... T E A C H I N G me some of the finer points of Wiki policy. So far...

So far...you have shown no inclination to be constructive. Your behavior reminds me of High School. If your behavior is in fact representative of what I will find as a pervasive monolith within Wikipedia.......then Poor Wikipedia...!!!

RESPECTFULLY YOURS..in very direct conversation: Judd Smith (talk) 17:09, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Well I actually am in high school (or secondary school, as we call it over here across the pond). And as you requested, I will show you that my page edit was in good faith by showing you WP:CAPITAL. Also that is the second insult you have done so I will take up this issue on WP:AN/I. Also I have removed all addresses from your previous posts since we don't really recommend personal info being shown. Maestro magico (talk) 18:28, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
============================== edit

Good luck, Maestro_magic with your appeal to "administration."

For the first time, you have revealed that your objection is/was to CAPITALIZATION. Interesting....I did not know the Wiki policy......I edit Wiki very little. Thank you, Maestro_magic, for educating me. No sly smile -- I mean it. Courteous people don't rip people up......they invest the thought to explain.

Since you are my junior -- I will give you, Maestro_magic, some useful instruction. Take care to have and develop a "full rounded life." Wikipedia is a bagatelle on the face of life. Wikipedia is a useful convenience. But to any of we "editors" Wikipedia (and all Internet web pages) are merely a bagatelle. So take care not to invest y o u r s e l f p e r s o n a l l y a n d d e e p l y in Internet bagatelles. They have no substance and are capable of subtracting from that most-vital thing y o u r substance. It is for this reason that I personally don't give-a-fig for "reprimands" or "threats" from Internet-anyone. Not a fig. The "editorship" of Wikipedia is quite unlike, in value, an advanced degree. Consider, Maestro_magic......conducting the remainder of your life by the same rule.

(And whatever you do.....for God's Sake don't list that you are a "Wikipedia Editor" on a JOB APPLICATION...!!!...)

Now......as to your "good faith" in reverting the page. Reverting the page, RATHER than going in and de-capitalizing the text..???.... What about that, my good fellow? Think you "good faith".....or think you "lazy?"

Most respectfully yours ....and good luck with your life.

PS..this interchange with you has "taught" me to terminate messages with four tilde's. Thank you as well, for that instruction.

CSD edit

I have declined deition of Royal Nail because db-band is not proper criteria for this. It is not a band, artist, or other related group but db-a1 is proper for it because it was music act, not music band or artist. Take care of it next time. Thank You! Yasht101 07:31, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

The tagging was correct. A "music act" in this context is the same thing as a band or related music group. Furthermore, A1 would not be correct because there is enough context to identify the subject, there just isn't anything to state why this subject is important or significant. -- œ 08:25, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
