Page moving edit

You'll have to forgive me if I don't take Tobyk777 or your advice seriously. Disambiguation in titles wasn't anywhere near necessary for those articles. "The" not being in the title is very established precedent for characters. See Joker (comics), Vulture (comics), etc. I honestly doubt that such insignificant moves warrant discussion, nor would they garner much attention; a lame complaint from somebody obviously not knowledgeable in Wikipedia's policies doesn't indicate that it will. You might was well accuse me of editing too much.

As for the redirects, I generally don't believe in merging, as I find most cases to be excessive fancruft and I'm not going to ruin articles further by dumping such useless information and shoddy prose into them.

As for categories, I remove ones that are redundant and ill-fitting. I don't particularly like your implication that I'm doing things wrong. Interrobamf 12:38, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Alright, I can accept your position on redirecting/merging. Thank you for your advice. Interrobamf 14:25, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Help with image upload edit

Hi - you have previously helped me upload an image to the commons. I have two more small .png files to add and could again use your help. Thanks in advance. Special-T 13:42, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

To Move or Not to Move? edit

I'm confident that most people who type criteria, are in fact looking for criterion. I wouldn't move "criteria (band)". Instead I'd put a notice on top of the article criterion saying: "Criteria redirects here. For the band, see Criteria (band)." - Mgm|(talk) 20:43, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

That's kind of what I was wondering. Okay, thanks for the advice! Wyatt Riot 23:37, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry edit

Sorry about that it is from lack of time (Work and other things) as a result my wiki time is cut short. Æon Insanity Now!EA! 14:02, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

NYTimes article edit

Send me an e-mail (fastfission@gmail.com) with any details about the archived NY Times article(s) you are interested in and I'll be happy to reply with the articles in question. I have full access to all NY Times articles past and present via my various university services and I'm happy to help out, esp. if it for Wikipedia research. --Fastfission 19:37, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

First off, congrats on having won the user-page award. Oh, and your act of kindness, your flower, was such an amiable surprise that suddenly another flower sprang up, right on your talk-page ;-) Sciurinæ 20:41, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you edit

Ah, the person who welcomed me and told me not to leave my signature on pages when editing :) In beginning, Wikipedia didn't feel quite so cold and alien, because I felt like there was one person there, and it wasn't just an inanimate magic encyclopedia with scary code. You're a great guy, and thanks for voting for me in my RfA last month. In a few months after I graduate, I'll have time to "prepare," and, *groan* visit xFD everyday. Hopefully I'll win it. Do you have any tips or suggestions for me? Thanks again, X [Mac Davis] (SUPERDESK|Help me improve) 07:03, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wow, that was an exceptionally good tip. I will probably end up referring to it several times. Thanks! X [Mac Davis] (SUPERDESK|Help me improve) 08:12, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Hehe, I don't think anybody here really cares. I generally don't like to "celebrate" anniversary days and other holidays, but this is the only one that would have any... meaning. I might just edit all day to celebrate! Or bake a chocolate cake, or start building my trebuchet. Nah, that's planned for December. And yes, actually you welcomed me on one of my first three edits. I forgot to check the timestamp to the hour or minute though. X [Mac Davis] (SUPERDESK|Help me improve) 08:47, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Can I have both? Actually I don't like pets. Maintaining myself is enough! X [Mac Davis] (SUPERDESK|Help me improve) 08:57, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

WP:DYK edit

The page for WP:DYK says that if/when there is a backlog that an admin should be contacted. There are quite a few entries for 28 October and 27 October (the article on Reverence being one that I nominated) and I was just curious if that constitutes a backlog. Or is there another way to tell if the page is in fact backlogged? Thanks, Dismas|(talk) 06:05, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
