Welcome to Wikipedia, Looktheinfo! Thank you for your contributions. I am Mopswade and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. You can also check out Wikipedia:Questions or type {{help me}} at the bottom of this page. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Mopswade (talk) 06:22, 10 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Looktheinfo! If you encounter a page you can't edit yet, you can make a request on the talk page and editors who watch the page will be able to help you. Wug·a·po·des 03:12, 11 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

OK that's enough

...with the thanking, which suggests you are here to point a whole bunch of editors to various edits in problematic articles, and not to edit. Please see WP:NOTHERE, and explain what you are doing. I know I make tons of edits people should thank me for, but remember Paradise Regained, 2.321-322. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 22:48, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Looktheinfo and User:Check-the-text, it is generally pleasant to be thanked. A thanks-only account is a bit unusual, tho; normally thanking is a minor adjunct to editing articles yourself. It is a quick automated version of thanking people with a post on their talk page saying what you are thanking them for; as Drmies somewhat obscurely said  , the social or cultural connection between the thanker and the thanked person gives it most of its force. If you simply thank lots of people without giving a reason, it runs the risk of being more distracting than useful. Please do respond here; click "edit" and type your message, then four tildes ("~").
