Hi - and welcome to Wikipedia! Your edits to the above article had to be reversed (or "reverted") - by another editor who may also very well be commenting here. Please understand that this is NOT an attack on you personally, but on this instance of your work, which was not, for several reasons, up to our standards. Among other things you don't seem to have actually read the article, at least not past the first few paragraphs (the introduction or "lede" section). The "frame" story, its Persian background, and other matters you wanted to add to these first paragraphs are already covered at an unbiased and scholarly level a little further down the page. I might also point out that the Persian work Hezār Afsān (alas, lost) which you seem to be confusing with this one also receives its own coverage in the proper section. --Soundofmusicals (talk) 22:56, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- Well thank you for your reply ... But I m sure that , the 1001 nights book , for the first time was written in Iran (Persia) , and then it translated to Dari Persian and they changed the book s name into Hezār Afsān , after that they translate it to Arabic and the version published in Europe for the first time was Arabic so people make a mistake by saying that this book originally is Arabic , also Shahrzad and Shahryar are an Persian names not Arabic , many of tales of the book accour in Persia (Iran) not Arabia , so please research more about it and also search persian websites in english to see that Im telling the truth , and also you can read the book , I have the book its about 6 editions and thier name are 1001 nights not Hezar Afsan , and when I read it I was sure that Wikipedia made a mistake by saying that the book is Arabian or from Arabia LilCorporalRipper (talk) 04:59, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to jump on you. As Soundofmusicals has explained above (more eloquently and in more detail than my edit summary), all I've done is undo (revert) your edit, and you are unfree to undo my edit to restore the content you changed and added. If the changes are controversial (eg whether the origin of 1001 Nights is Arabic or Persian), you really need to provide reliable sources and discuss the matter on the article's talk page and get a consensus. - Do read the whole article - the connection between the subject of this article and Persian literature is already covered in considerable detail in the main article, beneath the indexed content list. This is based on the work of many editors who have worked on this article over the years - they have referred to the writings of many eminent scholars, named in the citations (references).
