Request reason:

Okay,I shouldn't have tried to put silly things here, and I'm sorry about that. I do want to help build Wikipedia, and I can do that by fixing spelling/grammar areas, as well as researching article subjects that have short articles about them and adding that info to Wikipedia. Can I have another chance to show that I can actually be useful here please? Legend Nevada (talk) 18:26, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:

This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  • Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
  • Read our guide to improving articles.
  • Pick any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
  • If you have trouble choosing an article to improve, see this index of articles needing improvement for ideas. Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:
    1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
    2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
      • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...);
      • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
    3. Click edit at your talk page, and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
    4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
    5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose: reflist-talk. Once you have added the template, click Publish changes.
  • Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you. Yamla (talk) 18:58, 21 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I haven't chosen my article to work on yet, but I was wondering if there's any way to hide what I said in the edit summaries of my previous edits. They're kinda embarrassing for me to look at now. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Legend Nevada (talkcontribs) 19:13, 21 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

The edit summary situation has been resolved; I'm marking the request as answered. 78.28.44.204 (talk) 20:11, 21 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I picked an article to improve, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepe_Pozas, and my prosed additions to the article are above. I hope this is sufficient for me to be unblocked. I apologize for any mistakes I made, I'm new to editing here but the above is a sample of what I want to do here, along with fixing spelling and grammar. Legend Nevada (talk) 23:43, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Not only was it nowhere near sufficient, you also blatantly copied and pasted content from proballers.com in violation of WP:COPYRIGHT, thereby placing the entire Wikipedia project in jeopardy. I have revoked your talk page access. Yamla (talk) 11:21, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System. If the block is a CheckUser or Oversight block, was made by the Arbitration Committee or to enforce an arbitration decision (arbitration enforcement), or is unsuitable for public discussion, you should appeal to the Arbitration Committee.
Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.

  • @Yamla: Legend Nevada has now made an unblock request on the Unblock Ticket Request System, in which they appear to show a more constructive attitude to editing than before. Also, the copyright issue for which you removed talk page access was one small edit, without any previous warning on copyright, and there is no obvious reason that I can see to suppose that continuing copyright infringements would have been a problem. Do you have any objection to restoring talk page access so that Legend Nevada can post an unblock request here? (I also note with some surprise that you declined two unblock requests, which is not usual practice.) JBW (talk) 22:26, 27 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm okay with you reinstating talk page access so they can post a new unblock request here. As an aside, I declined the second request because that was a follow-up to the first request. I declined the first request but extended the 2nd-chance template, which they took advantage of (but abused), so was roughly part of the same unblock request. Happy to discuss this further with you if you wish! --Yamla (talk) 11:57, 28 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I have reinstated the talk page access so the user may post an unblock request here.-- 5 albert square (talk) 16:03, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

New Unblock Request

edit

{unblock|Hello, I first want to say that I am sorry for posting those silly edit summaries that were later hidden, I had thought it would be amusing for some reason, but I realize now that this is a serious thing and will take it seriously by only adding new information to articles and fixing spelling/grammar.

I also now understand Wikipedia's copyright policy and how to properly credit content I take from other sources. Copyright is the legal protection of a person's created content from being used or appropriated in unauthorized ways. To use copyrighted content on Wikipedia, it is necessary to put the content in your own words and to give full credit to the original source. I hope I have addressed these issues sufficiently but I will add anything else if needed, and I will make sure I obey all the rules here on Wikipedia. Thank you.
