Please send a kind word to — Editor atLarge(speak), Peter, and most especially ElaragirlTalk|Count , who are all going through some very hard times right now. In memory of Anne and David; Reena, Jennifer and Hannah; Jenna, Alfred, Matthew and Windy; Iris and all those we have loved and lost. I will be away until mid-January 2007, and I might be offline during this time. Best wishes to everyone while I'm gone.
I love getting new messages, but please follow these guidelines:
1. Please be civil and respect that this ismytalk page. That means avoiding the excessive use of images (barnstars and smileys are fine, within reason), not treating my talk page as your personal chat room, and not altering your comments post facto.
2. Please sign your messages by typing ~~~~ or by using the edit toolbar. The automated signature button is the one to the right of the crossed out "W".
If I feel that a response is needed, I will do my best to reply within 24 hours. If you expect a response and you haven't heard from me, please tell me.Due to my wikibreak, I will be unable to respond immediately. I do plan on responding to everyone's message that seems to need a response, but just not during my wikibreak. I hope you aren't offended.
Please understand if I do not respond immediately. Also please be understanding if I do not answer your message in the order that it was received.
I will ordinarily answer on your talk page, unless requested to do otherwise. Thank you!

I'd have replied before to thank you for your kind message, but I thought you'd already gone. Anyway, I hope you have a great break, with relaxation, good company, food and drink, and above all PRESENTS!! (Hooray!!) (I'm sure you're organised enough to have completed your Christmas shopping on time.) And here's hoping that 2007 will be a much better year for you in every way. Congrats! Y-O-U are the Time Person of the Year! Good job! (note: this is to cheer you up, not to let other Wikipedians down because they are also Persons of the Year, too) Bearly54100:49, 21 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
I supported ER and you too! Remember? Anyway, I might go on indefinate Wikibreak, too. I had some bad run ins with some syops on Wikipedia, and I feel like that my contributions here don't garner any merit. Bearly54114:26, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
And since I don't know which you celebrate, I hope you have/had/will have a very happy Holiday!. Hope you and your family have a magnificent day, or series of days! You might wanna install the "SaucyMillionaire" font to see this correctly. Cheers, mate!:) —Randfan!!

I imagine this is not something E@L has not said herself more than enough times, but I just wanted to say that she (and I) appreciate your support of her ... it's been a blessing. Please let me ever know if there is anything I can do to repay that kindness. Cheers, ✎ Peter M Dodge ( Talk to Me • Neutrality Project )17:48, 22 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for supporting me through the tough times I've been going through lately. Though I don't know the reason for your absence, I wish you the best of luck in all your endeavours, and a very merry Christmas. Every one of you here deserve a special place in my heart right now, and forever. Thank you so much for everything.
Aww... please say yes... it's just comic violence! Nothing bad... well, at least not that bad. Oh, well. Merry Christmas anyways!

Wherever you are, and whether you're celebrating something or not, there is always a reason to spread the holiday spirit! So, may you have a great day, and may your wishes be fulfilled in 2007! Fvasconcellos16:37, 25 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, Esperanza's lost its spirit. Elaragirl's not even at Wikipedia:Esperanza/A, and no one is doing anything to help. And even though it wasn't that great before, there were people that were actually willing to help those in need. Now... it's nothing. ♥ Fredil16:39, 25 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kyoko, my dear, I don't have much time to respond right now; but please, please know that I'm thinking of you. I care very much, and am here for you even if I don't respond right away. Please don't despair... I think that leaving EA is the right decision for you if it was causing you stress, don't feel bad. Just please take care of yourself. I and many others care much about you, and our thoughts are with you always; but especially during these hard times. I know were Riana and Spring here they would be sending you all their love as well, and I know they are thinking of you.
I will respond more on EA within the next few days, I am technically not even supposed to be on the computer right now... but Peter mentioned you had written me so I had to come and make sure you were okay.

I'm a trained peer counselor with Bipolar Disorder. Unfortunately at this time, there is a dearth on Wikipedia as to what this means. Basically, it means I can help.
Here are some tips:
Take B complex - this helps elevate your mood and energy. All the B vitamins are water soluble, so you can't really take too much.
Pick up the phone and call a friend - I know this is incredibly hard, but the people who care about you want to hear from you. Do not isolate.
Eat complete proteins - this has surprising mental and physical benefits.
Go for a walk with a trusted friend every day - I can't stress enough how important it is not to isolate. Even seeing strangers from afar can help. Try going to a "safe place", such as a library.
Do what your Doctors tell you, and do not spare them the absolute truth. If you don't like/trust them, dump them and find Doctors you do.
Do not feel ashamed - not for a minute, not for a second. Millions of people have mental illness and lead brilliant, successful lives. From Dick Cavett to Robin Williams. You can and will too. Do not let the stigma of mental illness (also lacking an article on Wikipedia) stop you from your own recovery.
Kyoko, I have already left a message of support on Elaragirl's talk page. I've also left her an email. Feel free to email me any time as well. Your compassion is gorgeous, but what I really want you to do is get selfish and take care of yourself. You're right to love, but sometimes it's best to just focus and do the hard work it takes to get back to recovery. Sincerely, NinaOdell (talk • contribs • logs) 00:32, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I know that you've been going through a lot, though I'm not sure exactly what nor do I need to know. Just know that I understand what it is to go through hard times as you are going through, I care, and I am here to lend support should you need it. It's really the least I can do. I hope and pray you feel better soon. Cheers, ✎ Peter M Dodge ( Talk to Me • Neutrality Project )23:21, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Heya, I wanted to apologise for my part in your distress over Esperanza. I think Esperanza is ultimately going to be destroyed, and I think that's a good thing, but the angst that it has caused you as a result is an upsetting side effect. I have seen your comments above with Peter about perhaps starting over, and I think, if you want to pursue that, it might be a good idea to set up Wikipedia:Support to act as an alerts cum support system for the whole community, not just Esperanza. I think that might be what you're looking for. If you think this is a good idea, I would be happy to help in any way.
Having said that, I think it is evident from the many messages on both your and other suffering Wikipedians' pages that Wikipedians do not need an alerts system to know when their fellow Wikipedians are unhappy. :) I hope you feel better soon. Depression is a bitch - but without bitches we wouldn't have puppies. It's a weird analogy, but I hope you smiled. God bless, Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 02:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Happy Holidays/Happy New Year/etc. Kyoko! I hope that you are feeling better right now. I noticed your comments about the overall Esperanza community, and I totally agree with you. A few hours ago, I left Esperanza.--Ed¿Cómo estás?Reviews?20:35, 28 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK, now it just seems I'm spamming your talkpage, but I added it to my watchlist and I couldn't just let this pass by. Since you've been given three cakes already, I feel compelled to present you with a birthday dorayaki. Enjoy... Fvasconcellos17:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
As a Birthday Gift, I give you an orange box saying that you have a new message ... wait, you already opened it? Meh. Happy Birthday, anyway. :) GracenotesT § 18:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
First edit in a while is wishing you a happy birthday! That was a shock seeing it on the calendar! Hope today is your happiest birthday ever! I'm overwhelmed in joy because of it and hope the same is true for you! —¡Randfan!Sign here?21:18, 29 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please note the new name (I'll happily email the reason). I would also like to very much "borrow" your talk page template. Would that be alright? Thanks for being such a compassionate person, Kyoko. I think you're lovely. Nina Odell15:43, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Kyoko! I would like to respond to the recent edit you made to your userpage. In my opinion, your decision to leave was made approximately during the same time as several other editors. The number of users listed on Wikipedia:Esperanza/M was simply declining at a gradual rate, a decline in which you had no effect on. --Ed¿Cómo estás?Reviews?23:08, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
If it's any help, I was thinking about leaving for quite some time prior to that. I saw Esperanza was a sinking ship and just left. The timing was a coincidence. DoomsDay34923:16, 30 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
I also discovered that the buttons at the top of the edit screen are incredibly useful. AND I learned how to make footnotes! I made another card just for admins (mostly) and wrote an essay for it as well. Yay!
If there was anything I could wish for you right now, it would be to see Wikipedia through my eyes. I've only been here three months, and have met the most wonderful people (mostly). The others are few and far-between.
I hope you don't take responsibility for other people's actions - particularly the actions of adults. If you do, please consider that you'll be doing it all your life if you start now.
I've got no clue about the whole thing, but I kind of noticed something when I was shopping around for a therapist. My personal observation is that a lot of therapists appear to have taken psychology (or whatever) for free therapy, rather than an actual desire to help.
Perhaps that's a little of the case here; a lot of people started signing on to Esperanza to get love rather than give it. Perhaps some didn't know how to give love genuinely in the first place (I was briefly at the discussion to resurrect Concordia, and believe me, polite words do not a civil person make).
If that's even a little true, than Esperanza did indeed do what it set out to do. It just didn't have enough supply (original members) to meet the demand. In any event, Happy New Year again and consider staying away from those pages altogether - go read the main page, it's great today! Nina Odell02:18, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey there. Thanks for the sentiments and the tribute to thhose I lost. I greatly appreciate it. I just wanted to drop a note, that I'm going on an indefinite wikibreak, as noted on my userspace, and I don't know if I'll return as of yet, so I just wanted to thank you for everything. Hey Kyoko, I know you had written something about the past of Esperanza, but perhaps you want to reconsider a couple of your edits to the essay at Wikipedia:Esperanza? The games pages were deleted prior to the first MfD, and had an MfD of their own. The rephrasing of the social environment section of it doesn't really seem true; there wasn't ever encouragement for people not to edit the encyclopedia (on the contrary!), but some people spent more time on it than the encyclopedia by their own choice. It seems that perhaps the initial wording of that section gives a clearer picture, but those are just my thoughts. Thanks for your contributions to it, -- Natalya20:15, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
That looks nice, Kyoko, you've phrased it really well now. Don't worry, of course I'm not upset with you! There's no reason for me to be - everyone is encouraged to have different opinions, it makes for a much more interesting life that way. I'm sure all of us who were part of Esperanza are sad that it strayed from its ways and is now inactive, but things just change and we have to take them as they come. -- Natalya20:35, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello Kyoko,
Not sure if you already know about this or not, but WP:REACH is going under a series of reforms, and I thought you might be interested in giving your opinion. If not, that's fine too (don't feel at all obligated to do so) but I'd like to get a range of opinions on the project and how to proceed, and I know you've gone through some things that might give a unique view on how to get this program restarted and there for people who really need it. --WootyWoot?contribs06:41, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
