January 2011 edit

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. This applies whether or not you are logged in to the account you used to create the page. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:35, 31 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • In response to your request on my talk page, I have restored the deleted article at User:KunleAdetoke/Debo Onifade. It is important to understand that this is a temporary measure to allow you to work on the page and prepare it for release as an article when it is ready. It is not a long-term way of keeping material which has been deleted from an article. JamesBWatson (talk) 16:13, 31 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, but please cn you guide me on how to locate this page. I cant seem to find it. I really want to see the entire material, work on it and perhaps send it back to you to check. You may also please let me know if there is any specific part you think I should remove from the article

Hello, I guess you are busy. I will put it back online now. Please help me revise anything that you consider requires correction. I just really feel this person has more interesting details than many other people/Nigerians that I have seen on wikipedia, and deserves to be put on there. I have put a number of sources there that confirm many of the contents. Please check the links and google the person and correct if you see any discrepancy.

Speedy deletion nomination of Debo Onifade edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Debo Onifade requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Jarkeld (talk) 18:27, 31 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Debo Onifade edit

If you haven't fixed the article PLEASE DO NOT repost it to mainspace. Jarkeld (talk) 18:33, 31 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I have removed it totally and I will not bother about it again until I get a response from an editor. And if you consider it not important, that's fine. Thanks

The problem with the article is that it does not link to reliable sources. The articles by the subject can't be used as reliable third party sources. You need to add sources that say why we should have an article about this person. That is why the mainspace version was deleted and why I declined the Afc. And again. Proposed deletion of Debo Onifade edit

The article Debo Onifade has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A personal bio, sourced only to primary sources, that makes no claim of notability. Being one of nine winners of an undergraduate history paper competition is not a plausible claim of notability, and cannot be verified with the existing refs.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. power~enwiki (π, ν) 15:10, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
