Image Tagging Image:Jwoodsworth.png

edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Jwoodsworth.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 07:19, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:DSCF1439.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles have to meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that Kevin Roche, Sudbury meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria are welcome: tell us by editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kevin Roche, Sudbury. Do not forget to add four tildes like this: ˜˜˜˜ at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

The discussion usually lasts five days. In the meantime, you can also edit the article itself. However, do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). At the end of the discussion period, an administrator weights all comments and decides whether the article is to be deleted or not. rehpotsirhc 05:07, 14 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I see that you signed an edit by another user on Tombride's talk page. If this was indeed your edit through another account, please know that this is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. It should also be noted that this applies to annon edits. I've noticed that ip 208.96.78.122 has an edit history very similar to your own. A good rule of thumb is this; if you don't want an edit associated with your name than it probably shouldn't be made. Thanks! Tomb Ride My Talk 21:05, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Are you just trying to make my life difficult? It seems like you are on a personal quest to get me. I work in Public Affairs at Laurentian University, it's not an issue to re-publish that information online. It is certainly more useful to have the info from her website on Wikipedia than to have either a broken link, or a copyright violation."

Something you have found on Wikipedia is that there are many hundreds of editors who volunteer their time to police the encyclopedia for violations of its rules and guidelines; I'm one of them, Tombride is another, Peter Grey, James Teterenko, Montco, Aeropagitica and Rehpotsirhc are others. We've all found recent articles you've written which we believe violate Wikipedia's rules in one fashion or another. After a point, when an editor's (especially a new editor) creations are found to systematically violate the rules, people independently review everything that editor's written to see if the pattern persists; this is one of those cases. The best way to avoid this in the future is not to argue why the rules shouldn't apply to your articles, but to write your articles with an eye towards satisfying the rules. RGTraynor 07:19, 18 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
It's not a matter of personally targeting you, but you've left a chain of non-notable entries and commited a string of wikipædia violations and defended them with reasoning that is either irrelevant or questions some of the basic rules of wikipædia. Everybody makes mistakes, I've been warned several times for my behaviour on here in the past, but I've changed. Furthermore, I'm not going to argue that some rules on wikipædia aren't rather arbitrary in their application (although I think they are justly applied in all the cases in question here) you frankly don't have a leg to stand on in questioning those rules as a person who has been a member for only a number of weeks. Your attitude seems to show that you either don't understand some basic wikipædia rules or feel that they don't apply to you. WIKIPÆDIA always welcomes new contributors to the community, but, wikipædia, like any community, needs its community members to follow certain basic rules. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Kevin's head.jpg)

edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Kevin's head.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sue Anne 19:22, 30 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
