Quarterstaff

edit

Hi, I took the link you put off the Kendo page, where I don't think it is appropriate (the shinai is used as a substitute in training, more like a wooden foil). I thought that you may like to link to Jōdō, which seems similar, but I don't know enough about either to be sure. Francis Bond (talk) 07:32, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove maintenance notices from pages unless the required changes have been made. If you are uncertain whether the page requires further work, or if you disagree with the notice, please discuss these issues on the page's talk page before removing the notice from the page. These notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an page, and removing them is considered vandalism. Thank you. Accurizer 10:35, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Do you have a source for the claim you added to Hiram Abiff?

If no source is provided, it will be removed as original research. MSJapan 04:29, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your pre-Roman Germanic Britain theory

edit

Let me add to everything others have said in response to your theory that Old English stems from Germanic speakers in pre-Roman Britain: If they had been there in the Roman period, they surely would have been converted to Christianity (as were the ancestors of the Welsh, Cornish and Bretons). But this is contradicted by the historical fact that the conversion of the Anglo-Saxons began in 596. --teb728 01:04, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

HEMA articles

edit

I've noticed that you've put some detailed technical discussion/instruction in the quarterstaff, George Silver, and DiGrassi articles. I'm not sure that this is appropriate for Wikipedia though, because it seems very interpretive and not really verifiable. I think it would be better suited for separate article, maybe linked through external sources? Megalophias (talk) 22:51, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Mickey Dimic

edit

The article Mickey Dimic has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi. When you recently edited Epic poetry, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Iambic (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Kendo & Western Fencing

edit

Hi Kozushi,
It has been very interesting to read your summary of similarities and differences between kendo & Western fencing. It is a shame that due to some obscure reasons the section was removed from Kendo article.

If you have time, it might be interesting for you to visit Schola Gladiatoria forum: http://www.fioredeiliberi.org/phpBB3, especially: Kendo, kenjutsu and HEMA (http://www.fioredeiliberi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18498). Your thoughts on kendo, modern & historical fencing are most welcomed there.

Proposed deletion of pan-national epic

Proposed deletion of pan-national epic

edit

The article pan-national epic has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

original research - no reliable sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Hey Kozushi - I noticed you had made the page pan-national epic, but it doesn't seem like there were any sources cited for that. I tried to add sources, but it doesn't look like the term "pan-national epic" is used in any academic sources that I could find, so I've marked the page for deletion. If you have any objections to that, please let me know. Thanks! carchasm (talk) 17:16, 12 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Ron Angus

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ron Angus requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.fullcirclejudoclub.ca/judo-and-jiu-jitsu/our-instructors.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
