Hi,sorry I've only just seen this message. I have re edited Colin's Biography at his request because the previous one was inaccurate. I've used the same Bio as is on his website. I hope this is sufficient verification. Apologies again I just don't really understand how this works. Kirsten Steele

  • As well as the crucial WP:COI notice below, please read WP:RS. It is seldom if ever appropriate to import the biography published on a website by a person or company for themselves. If there are inaccuracies in the biography on Wikipedia, please suggest improvements on the article Talk page, along with the appropriate reliable 3rd party sources.   Hello, I'm AllyD. I noticed that you recently removed content from Colin Steele without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Wikipedia requires material in biographies of living persons to be referenced to reliable 3rd party sources. In this case, you had overwritten the referenced biography with an unreferenced text. Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Kirsten steele. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Colin Steele, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. AllyD (talk) 14:27, 7 May 2017 (UTC) Hi I do have a conflict of interest because I'm Colins wife So what can I do to update and correct his page? Its not true that he became "dissatisfied with playing with hue and cry" What is on your wiki page shows up when any one googles his name and people lift straight from it and quote it elsewhere. It is extremely frustrating that you wont let me correct the info but any random person can post stuff about him. If you wont let me correct his page can you do it?Reply

  • The article was carrying no source for that claimed motivation of dissatisfaction so I have deleted it as counter to the WP:BLP policy. To propose changes of that kind, please use Talk:Colin Steele and then someone else can apply the change as long as it is not contradicted by a source. AllyD (talk) 14:56, 8 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
