Anna Wintour revert edit

OK, here's my problem(s) with this:

  • On 23 January 2012,
My understanding of MOS:DATE is that we generally don't use full dates unless there is some good reason to do so. And there isn't here; this will date fast.
  • ... the first day of the auspicious Chinese Lunar New Year of the Dragon,
What's the relevance? Oh, I see, it's because Anna's a dragon lady. Sorry, that's a stretch.
  • ... acclaimed culture writer Arturo Tora'
So acclaimed (see WP:PEACOCK, by the way) we don't have an article on him at the moment.
  • ... tweeted on the online social networking service Twitter,
Where else would someone tweet something?
  • “Anna has, well in the new millennium, shown herself to be a most worthy champion and maven maestra of modern moda!”
So, because someone whose notability or relevance has not been established makes such pro forma praise on a day that happens to be the first day of the Chinese Year of the Dragon, it has something illuminating to say about Anna Wintour being a dragon lady? This is original research at best and a coincidence at most.
  • <ref name="Maven Maestra of Modern Moda"> Arturo Tora on Twitter. Retrieved January 23, 2012.</ref>
Your citation didn't even include a link to the tweet, so it can't be verified.

Sorry to be harsh, but I put a lot of time and effort into writing that article and I feel a responsibility to maintain its integrity. Which is not to say that I don't accept others' contributions to it, but this one is just superfluous. Daniel Case (talk) 18:59, 23 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for responding. I understand how you feel. Maybe this could go on her Wikiquote page if you make sure to provide a link direct to the tweet. Daniel Case (talk) 20:45, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Jeremy Lin do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Twitter is not a reliable source. I notice you have also made edits in the past that appear to promote other works of Arturo Tora. You may also want to read the guideline on conflict of interest. File permission problem with File:Sfumato Asiatique 4.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Sfumato Asiatique 4.jpg, which you've sourced to Moca Asia. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wylve (talk) 04:56, 24 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
