Speedy deletion nomination of Oscar Potential Nominees edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard. —Thank you. A tag has been placed on Oscar Potential Nominees requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Karenjc 23:47, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Reply:Vandal? Not me edit

I suppose you put this up on the article about boogies: ==What Does A Booger Look Like?== A booger looks like a greenish slimy thing that is squishy. And that's nonsense. (It often isn't slimy or squishy. And often yellow and not green.) Anyway, you;d better read some wikipedia guidelines to see what's nonsense and what isn't. OK? Thanks, Kayau Don't be too CNN I'LL DO MY JOB uprising! uprising! 14:47, 15 February 2010 (UTC) It's not nonsense, it's a fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.204.157.71 (talk) 00:29, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

OK, smartypants, look there. A Wikipedia guideline says that we shouldn't say things like, 'He's a funny man with a red car and makes people laugh.' It doesn't help much if we say 'He's a humorous homo sapien with a scarlet small, private vehivle and causes amusement in other homo sapiens.' Same with this. Kayau Don't be too CNN I'LL DO MY JOB uprising! uprising! 02:36, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you used "He is CONSIDERED a very funny man with a red Civic and sometimes makes people laugh when he cracks a joke," that would cound because it doesn't show an opinion. KOF :) 11:44, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

First, this fact you just mentioned is pretty unencyclopaedic. Secondly, your booger thingy is unencyclopaedic so it is considered nonsense. Thirdly, it is nonsense so it is considered vandalism. Finally, a quick reminder that it's not a common practice to delete old messages. we archive them. Kayau Voting IS evil 13:08, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh, fine, fine, you win. I don't know how to archive.KOF :) 18:08, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

To archive, go to User talk:KingofFilm/Archive 1. Throw all your old discussions in. Then add an archive template. Futher instructions can be found on WP:Archives. Kayau Voting IS evil 02:52, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Sasquatch (Film) edit

The article Sasquatch (Film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability questionable. No sources, no entry at IMDb.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Favonian (talk) 22:28, 3 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Don't tell me this, put a {{hangon}} tag on it and post in the talk page! Go! --Dennis The Tiger (Rawr and stuff) 22:38, 3 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • OK. That's step one. Next part, then, is to fix it. Like the note below here states, we're looking for notability, amongst some other things. I'm gonna pull back for now so you have some time to fix it. Good luck. --Dennis The Tiger (Rawr and stuff) 22:50, 3 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your deleted pages edit

The only page of yours that I deleted which had any content was this:

Movies in the Berkshires is a small company. They have two theaters: Triplex Cinema, which was launched in 1995 with the movie Mighty Aphrodite, based in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, which typically played movies that are open in limited release. Since the Beacon Cinema, which opened in late 2009 with New Moon at a midnight showing opened, they have been showing more popular movies. The small theatre chain is not exactly called Movies in the Berkshires, though. It is unnamed, as of March 2010. When they remodeled a large building to create the Beacon Cinema, they spent millions of dollars to remodel the building that was a popular theatre over a decade ago. The Beacon has a small area in the side for rent that they seem to be hoping to rent out to make more money. The Triplex is located in a lot behind the main street in Great Barrington.

The others were redirects and an entry in a list.

They were deleted because they gave no indication of notability, a requirement to have a Wikipedia article, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and press releases. From all the warning notices above, it looks as though you have not really understood this important requirement for a Wikipedia article. What it asks is, has someone independent of the subject thought it significant enough to write about? If not, it's probably not of enough interest to have an article. Read WP:My first article carefully to learn how to choose an acceptable subject and write an acceptable article. JohnCD (talk) 22:46, 3 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

User of vandalism template edit

Could you please explain the reason why you have posted this message to editor Ethiopiashimsham. As far as I can see you haven't reverted any of their edits, and there is indeed no reason why you should. Favonian (talk) 22:51, 3 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

The edit seemed to be missing but the comparison showed it was there. The track showed no deletion after that but the text shown was something that was considered vandalism. 4 PAGES CREATED TO DATE. KingofFilm, the mighty Wikipedian. 22:53, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, but your reply makes absolutely no sense. I have struck your note at the editor's talk page. Please don't use such templates in the future without proper cause! Favonian (talk) 23:00, 3 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
