3ICE

3ICE is a professional summer 3-on-3 summer league. 30 seconds of Googling would have found adequate secondary sources for notability, and that the players are paid a professional rate. Both you and sbaio just assumed it was "unprofessional" and "exhibition", but maybe let's hold our horses before removing all of the edits. –uncleben85 (talk) 21:45, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

Sorry for just assuming that. I really don't know much about the league as I care more about European leagues, and maybe I'll just stick to those in the future. But you have to admit, that a 3-on-3 summer league does sounds like an exhibition tournament, doesn't it? --Cheers! Kilaseell - Message me! - 21:52, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
It's a new minor league meant to give options to players in the summer and capitalize on the 3-on-3 aspect of the game. It was meant to start play a couple of years ago but was delayed due to COVID, so only started in 2022. You can read some of the differences and how it started up here if you'd like https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/34413514/inside-3ice-3-3-hockey-revolutionary-first-season! They play a complete season before entering into a tournament-style playoffs. Players can make anywhere from $20,000 to $200,000. While many players are retired players coming back to the sport, most are actually active minor league players using it as a training/development league, sort of the NBA's various summer leagues (I would say most players are actually North Americans who have been playing in Europe as imports and need to come back to North America for the summer).–uncleben85 (talk) 22:04, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
Well, now I feel stupid :D, turns out it's a real legitimate pro league. My apologies! --Cheers! Kilaseell - Message me! - 22:10, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
