I don't have strong feelings about which link to use if the name is displayed properly. However, NE2 is one of the few users who are digilent in fixing improperly displayed links. If using redirects when making links helps in this task, then why not use the redirects instead of the article title? As said on WP:IH: The infobox for this WikiProject is {{Infobox Interstate}}. It says nothing more, not even about using {{Infobox road}}. We can still add srbox with a link to List of New Jersey state highways as the 2-letter abbreviation. That being said, it would look like this:

Middle of I-95

I wouldn't have questioned it unless it had been changed, and it was changed from US 64 in Rocky Mount to "in Virginia", so I figured out where it was. Here's how I did it; I screwed up at first. I added all the kilometres together (added the first column I chose, wasn't paying attention), then converted them to miles. I did not include West Spur or Total from New Jersey; just Main Route and Trenton Area (that part is a little confusing, I hope I did it right). I got 1915.42 miles, divided it by 2, and got 957.71. I then added miles starting from Florida, added Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina, which gave me 874.66 miles. Then I subtracted 957.71 from 874.66, and I got 83.05. Of course, technically, the exit for a mile is always +1 from the mile marker (never an exit 0), so I guess it would be Exit 84 which is I-295. I'm going to re-do it, then I'll put this on the I-95 talk page. New Jersey kind of messes it up. --MPD01605 (T / C) 00:45, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

I just re-did the calculations. Included the same (but added the miles this time. I got 1915.32, so half is 957.66. There are 874.67 miles Florida-N. Carolina, subtracted, got 82.99 miles into Virginia. Good enough for government work. Like I said, the "approximated middle" has been there for months, so at least it's correct for now. We could just approximate "near where it intersects I-295". Just gives a better idea of where rather than an obscure state route. Just my opinion. Intro Issue The Beatles WikiProject has been running a newsletter for some time now to great success, and, after some consideration, I've decided to launch a similar effort for the New York County Routes and New York State Routes WikiProjects. This could prove to be a very effective medium of communication between the members of the groups, and with increased communication comes the possibility of increased production. For the most part, this first issue will be a "dry run" of sorts, to work out any bugs in the system. The first serious issue with permanent sections will most likely be January's issue. Nothing as elaborate as the Wikipedia Signpost is planned, but the amount of information that will be found here will more than make up for the lack of framework. As we get settled with a format, I'll begin to make some improvements to the barebones structure and give a little more life to this page. DOT Beat Plans to reroute New York State Route 63 in Peoria, Covington, Wyoming County (15 miles southeast of Batavia) were unveiled on December 6. The project will eliminate a sharp curve present in the center of the hamlet, rerouting NY 63 along a new alignment to the north. Details will be finalized by Summer 2007 and construction will commence in Summer 2008. NYSDOT conducted a meeting on November 29 with Binghamton-area residents about the future conversion of New York State Route 17 to Interstate 86 from Horseheads to Binghamton. Topics of note included improvements to exit 67 (New York State Route 26, Endicott) and alternatives to exit 68, an eastbound exit only leading to Oak Street in Vestal, among which was the closure of the exit. New York State Route 23A, closed from Palenville to Haines Falls since June when record rains caused a retaining wall to collapse and give way to a mudslide, was reopened on November 22. During the time that the road was closed, numerous upgrades were made, including the replacement of culverts, upgrading of drainage systems along the road and the repair of both the collapsed wall as well as the existing retaining walls. Both state and county routes needing cleanup are fed into this category. Articles on reference routes are now being created in large numbers. As a general reminder, use {{Infobox NY Reference Route}}, link to your new article on the List of New York State Reference Routes and Parkway Routes, and, if you need a reference marker made, see TwinsMetsFan or Fwgoebel. Likewise, articles on county routes are also being made in impressive numbers. When writing these articles, be sure to abide by the guidelines on the project page, to maintain a consistent feel across all of the articles. Missing shields for county routes? See TwinsMetsFan or Northenglish. County routes in New York was recently created. Pictures of actual county route shields are greatly desired and needed. Also, if possible, some additional text and history about county routes in New York State would be welcome. New York State Route 11A remains the lowest active route without an article. The lowest decommissioned route with no article is New York State Route 7C. New York State Route 52 was, unfortunately, not qualified enough for Good Article status due to a lack of references (full report). Any references that can be added to the article, particularly the history section, are greatly appreciated. There are routes still lacking mileposts. New Jersey vs. Circle Signs

It's not clear to me why the New Jersey highway signs were changed to Circle Sign, but why would there be a need to change them back. If they're the same as generic images, why change them? Alansohn 07:29, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Florida State Road 372A

The standard for naming the Florida state road pages is "Florida State Road xxx", this includes decommissioned routes. County routes that were never state roads would be, using Little Road in Pasco County as an example - "Pasco County, Florida Road 1" (I think, if there's an official standard for CRs I'm not sure of it); but former SRs retain the SR format. - Aerobird 15:45, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

An additional comment on this issue: to Aerobird, if a decommissioned route now carries multiple designations, then an article can be created using the decommissioned route number. But, if that decommissioned route became another designation along its entire routing, then the article title should reflect its current status (which appears to be CR 372A). This is the current consensus on Wikipedia, accepted almost unilaterally by every state WP. If you have any issues with this standard, please voice them at WT:USRD, as this is an issue that would impact not only the Florida State Road WP, but the entire U.S. roads umbrella. --TMF ^{Let's Go Mets - Stats} 15:53, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

County sign help

I noticed you've created the county pentagons for pretty much the state of NJ, so I was wondering if you could help me. I need some signs for here in Florida; if I give you the numbers, county names, etc. (they're the same standard MUTCD (I think that's the right acronym) that's nationwide, i.e. NJ, FL, LA, etc.), would you be able to help? Actually, I normally don't do that. I'm only doing that when I need to save space (and get it as close to the 10 jct limit in WP:USH), but a lot of the ones that have had less than 10 (CR 557 for example) were done to spec. I noticed you fixed the CR 527 one, and thanks for that. That one was just too damn long anyway you looked at it.

Also, thanks for correcting the Toms River Twp link; seeing as I'm stuck here in FL, I didn't know they actually passed it yet. Yes and no; CR 536 is (somewhat) signed that it multiplexes with US 322 btwn the CBB and Williamstown, whereas CR 540 never makes it known it's twined with NJ 140; even though it's less than a mile long, one sign wouldn't hurt. I'll leave this call up to you. I mean, the general public would assume CR 540 starts at the US 40 exit ramp since it's signed as such (I think there's actually an "End" sign on CR 540 coming WB from NJ 45 at US 40, but like I've said before, it's been a few years...), while people would assume CR 536 is the same as US 322 b/c it's signed sporatically (Swedesboro, Mullica Hill, Glassboro, and Pitman come to mind). But, you're technically right; after looking back at the SLD's, they do appear to multi from 130 out to 140's end. That's a tough one; if only CR 536 wasn't signed....

Please read again Wikipedia:Embedded list, Wikipedia:Lists (stand-alone lists) and WP:LIST. There are already much guidelines about how to make a list in Wikipedia. Even there is Featured Lists and they do not merely contain tabular lists; they must be well-written and well-referenced. Try for example, List of volcanoes in Indonesia.

Yes, Future Development is a fact and it is well-referenced, but it is not yet an encyclopaedic item. I don't recall any future projects, future events, future plans in any encyclopaedia books.

Crispy1985 blanked a great deal of material from that article without an edit summary, after which you edited it, so I assume the blanking is part of the cleanup? Oregon Highways

After reading your suggestions, for the time being, I've modified my edits on OR 6 to 10 to conform to your edit to my edit on OR 3. I have no objection to the secret highway number article being rejected.

New NJ County Routes page

Actually, I like it, but I was kinda taken that we were taking off the 500's as well. I mean, I can see the upside (save space, consistency), however, I was looking for at the very least a link to the 500's near the top. I mean, it's good to have it in the box as well, but something toward the top would have been cool, if we couldn't leave the list as it was up there. Other than that, the only other qualm I found was the "500-series county routes" link in the infoboxes. Maybe we could make it look a little more encyclopedic, like "New Jersey 5xx County Routes", or even just capitalizing the letters in what's up there right now. Otherwise, I actually like it, and I have an idea for the list now in the 5xx page.

Why don't we make the 5xx in table form, sort of like an exit list? It would show the shield, of course a link to the route, the start point, the major cities it passes through (if none, just the biggest one), and the end point. I just finally had a chance to look at what you sent (heck of a weekend), and I like the table you have going there. The only problem is we would need to create more county shields (a lot of them), so if we're cool with that, we could do it. I actually think it looks better than I had in mind (mine was going to look like an exit list, for some strange reason); I think adding the locales would be cool though, so long as it didn't make the article too long.

I see what you're saying about the name of the county routes, but I dunno; I just think for aesthetics it would look better as "500-Series County Routes", but I definitely see your point nonetheless. CR 573 non-existant?

First off, thank you for naming me Member of the Month! It means a lot to know my work doesn't go unnoticed.

However, the issue at hand is CR 572. According to the SLD's, there's no such road. Seeing as I'm 1100 miles away, it's a little too far for me to go check. Also, the route info on the wikipage is pretty vague and not as detailed as the rest I'm finding. Should this be deleted? If not, where I can get the info to cite it? It's hard to tell where the original info for 573 came from, but I'm pretty sure it was somewhere. The SLD for NJ 168 shows CR 573 heading south overlaying NJ 41 in Runnemede, although 573 doesn't appear on the SLD for NJ 154, which is listed as the other terminus. SPUI's info on 573 may well answer the issue in explaining that 573 is a concurrency with NJ 41, which would explain the lack of a separate SLD for CR 573. Alansohn 21:45, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Monmouth County Routes

Thanks for the props! I'm gonna try to finish today, if I can...

1.) I've been doing the Easter Eggs thing for a while. While it doesn't make sense to me (if they want to know what it is, click on it; Wikipedia's not paper), I still respect your decision as leader of the project and'll make the adjustments accordingly;

2.) There's a mistake in the SLD's??? Say it ain't so! Actually, look here and you'll see what I mean; the SLD has CR 551 going through a township on the other side of the county, as well as circling around on itself, if you went only by the township names. It took me two links to Google Maps to show (since I lived on it) what the correct township flow was for this road. So, this wouldn't be the first screw-up NJ made in its "official" documents. Thanks for the heads-up on that one, though! Interstate 95 in New Jersey

I can see why you reverted the exit list edits I made but you do need to state somewhere that I-95 does not presently provide access to exits 6A, 6, and the Turnpike because this can be misleading to readers. Yes it is techincally I-95 but is not signed as such. It also causes confusion that the above list says I-95 ends but then there is this whole list below. Jgcarter 19:12, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the rule means one person cant do more than 3 reverts on Wikipedia as a whole. Meaning if I do a revert on here, a revert on another page, then a revert on another page, Im done. This helps out in edit wars. County Route 549 Spur (New Jersey)

I'm not sure what the best way to handle the gallery is, but the way it has been situated on the County Route 549 Spur (New Jersey) article it cuts off the flow. The pictures on the right didn't do the job any better, and putting them on the left is likely worse. The gallery format, by its nature, takes up a lot of space, while offering a mere thumbnail of an image. It also creates the appearance that the article ends at that point, discouraging people from scrolling down further. That is what was behind my shifting the gallery below the links. Despite your references to links always last, there are a number of items -- most notably succession boxes and other such templates -- that the WP:MoS specifies placing after the links section. I would suggest that we rethink how these gallery sections are placed, especially if they are not adding anything to the content of the article. Alansohn 20:17, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Infobox road

The huge change that was implemented by me was discussed on IRC by TMF, Rschen7754, and myself. We all agreed on the change, and I was just being bold and doing it.

On a side note, there may be some things, such as this, that are not discussed on WT:USRD or anywhere else like that. I'm having issues with IRC. I've got mIRC, and everytime I try to connect, it's "unable resolve server". It's frustrating (not so much, just a little). Newark Airport Interchange

I will acknowledge that the article has its issues, including making several unsupported (if not unsupportable) statements and the whole issue if the Turnpike is part of it or not. What I'm still trying to figure out is how vehicles got from Exit 14 into Newark Airport if there was no I-78? While I have my misgivings, I don't see why I-78 could not have been thrown into the mix at a later date. I spend much of time on Wikipedia either adding material with sources, or adding sources where needed, in many cases to articles on AfD that I have tried to improve. This article presents a much more difficult challenge in the way it was worded and constructed. I was surprised to see your vehemence in this issue, especially given how hard you have worked on the minutiae of New Jersey's county roads, almost all of which is based on putting the lone primary source we have (the SLDs) into text and infoboxes. I would much rather spend my time filling in the holes and improving the articles we have than arguing about an AfD. We have truly accomplished great things on New Jersey's roads and I'm not sure that any other state has the comprehensive coverage that has been attained as has been done for New Jersey. But do you see now (not agree with, but understand) what I was saying when I said that the material can be adequately covered on the individual route articles? All that's left is some measley sentences that I could count on my fingers. The paragraph that you've added in about the opening date and such can go in the history section of New Jersey Turnpike. The first few sentences of the second paragraph can go on Interstate 78 in New Jersey. The other articles just need a sentence stating that there's a complex interchange by the airport that intersects these other routes. Black Horse Pike/White Horse Pike

We have many New Jersey article referencing these roadways, but we have articles for neither of them. Have you come across any sources that we can use to define these roadways and create articles for them? Alansohn 04:00, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Good luck with the Louisiana shields. You starting doing them at a good time, I had done quite a few a few months back, but forgot to upload them. Finally uploaded them earlier this week. Just fixed the infobox to call only the svg shields. Yeah, Louisiana has been fairly neglected, I would start the state subproject, but I have enough to keep me busy as it is. --Holderca1 17:33, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

I think I had made an svg shield for every png that was out there, there wasn't that many png to start with. That project sounds like a good idea. It is interesting how the states that don't have a subproject are grouped together, mainly the lower Mississippi River Valley and Rocky Mountain states don't have projects. --Holderca1 19:46, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

On the working on LA shields, I say just go in order and if I work on any I will start at the end and work my way back.
