Thanks for the JCPC update!

Thanks very much for the update to the JCPC pages for 1870-79! I did a lot of the work on those pages, but for such a volume of data, I'm not surprised at one case being omitted; glad it's fixed. I'm curious - how did you find that case? Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 15:06, 29 November 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for taking the trouble to make these lists!

I do local history research in Montreal, including quite a bit of looking at real estate transactions. That case was interesting for its personalities: clashing real estate agents, notably Hardoin Lionais. I discovered it a few years ago through this book[1], via Google. Interesting! Thanks very much. I can only take credit for a certain amount of work. The real grunt work of copying the materials from the JCPC summaries, and their citations, was done by a now-departed editor. But they put it all into one monster list! Much consternation and wiki-hand-wringing ensued at the length of the article and the number of wiki-bytes being consumed. I suggested breaking it up by decades, and then worked on a lot of formatting and the summaries for each decade list. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 00:17, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
