Hello, davidwr.
Thank you for your message. I am brand new to Wikipedia and I selected "JuneandOtis" as my user name in honor of of my son's dogs. Must I change my user name?

- No, this is a perfectly rational explaination. It might help to put something to that effect on your user page, User:JuneandOtis, so other editors don't raise the issue later, but you are under no obligation to do so. If anyone raises the issue again, just tell them what you told me. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 16:10, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
Dear davidwr,
Hoping you can assist me. In my sandbox, I have practiced different types of inline citations. I finally figured out how to cite different pages of a duplicate external website. And I also figured out that anything I do in my sandbox cannot be saved.
I have created a Word document of an article I have written, including a list of sources and citations I will need. I want to use the Article Wizard to start the article on Wikipedia. I will not be able to input the article all at once; I will need to do a bit at a time, save it, and come back to it later. I am very confused as to where on Wikipedia I actually start writing the article so that I can save it. Can you advise me on this?
Many thanks! Carol (JuneandOtis)
- Your sandbox, User:JuneandOtis/sandbox, is a good place to do practice work. It is saved and unless what you are doing is something that can't be allowed on Wikipedia in the first place (see WP:Deletion), people generally won't mess with it. Don't confuse your sandbox with the public sandbox, which is at Wikipedia:Sandbox, that is erased frequently. Please read Help:Your first article to get started. Once you have something that is ready for review, read Wikipedia:Articles for creation for help submitting it for review.
- On an unrelated matter, you can use four tildes, ~~~~, to "sign" your messages. This will be replaced with your username and the date, including links to your user page and user talk page (that's this page). More information is at WP:Signatures. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 02:13, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
