Date Issues

edit

Someone is just going to revert those. The BC/BCE thing is an OLD issue on that page. Just so you know. - Vedexent 20:03, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

You cannot change category names to BCE - Wikipedia treats "Category 50 BC" and "Category 50BCE" as seperate categories - and the BCE ones do not exist. Changing the names breaks the pages. - Vedexent 21:11, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Beetles and 'deities'

edit

Simply put, it is a humorous and illuminating comment by a scientist, trying to educate the general public on the relative numbers of species. Considering that the quote has been in the article for over three years, your enthusiastic opposition, without discussion other than snideness, is perhaps more revealing than you'd like, if you will pause to reconsider. Please do. Shenme 22:26, 16 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Would the David Attenborough quote add to the article? Would it reveal something in a useful and accessible way to the average reader? More importantly, would it be more revealing about David Attenborough, you, or beetles?
It is far too easy to say "I should not have to read about" when you are reading from a particular position. In fact, what struck me later, after my comment to you, and then your comment on the talk page, is that I'm not sure that the text you dislike is even 'religious'. I don't see where at J. B. S. Haldane it mentions him jawing on about religion. I can't help but read the text you object to as a witty response to a framed question. And wit that would help the article, reinforcing the disproportionate number of species. I'm sorry, but I think you damage the article through pushing an agenda. Please reconsider. Oops, Lotus QuickPlace

edit

After moving to IBM Lotus QuickPlace, saw the history of your move to QuickPlace. I was looking at the IBM Software category and making the nameing of IBM products consistent. The QuickPlace article begins with "IBM QuickPlace" thus my edit. I think only the original Lotus products, such as 1-2-3, are left without the IBM prefix. Anyway, if you want to change it back I won't touch it again (and I'll at least glance at history before making similar changes). With apologies, tooold 11:52, 23 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
