honorific-prefix edit

Hi, I had to go through all your recent edits and remove the "Saint" from the name parameter of the infobox and add it to the proper parameter, which is "honorific-prefix". Please check the documentation of the infobox for information on how to properly use it, especially before making repetitive changes over a large number of articles. Thanks. Please stop adding honorifics to the "English name" parameter. That is not where they belong. They belong in the "honorific-prefix" parameter which you may have to add new. You are making many repetetive changes to a large number of articles and you should be sure that you have consensus for it and that you are doing the correct thing. February 2013 edit

Thank you for your contributions. One of your recent contributions to Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon has been reverted or removed, because it contains speculative or unconfirmed information about a future event. Wikipedia has a policy called "Wikipedia is not a crystal ball", which discourages such edits. Please only add material about future events if it is verifiable, based on a reference to a reliable source. Thank you. Please see discussion at WT:CATHOLIC about episcopal appointments and the WP:CRYSTAL policy. Elizium23 (talk) 02:00, 3 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

John Paul I edit

I added a caption to the photo at the top of the entry for Pope John Paul I. That explains why he's wearing cardinal's garb.

Why don't we use the photo below of him with his successor? If you do a Google search for "Pope John Paul I", you'll see that Google displays the image from wikipedia. I think other search engines do this too. Having more than one person in the image becomes confusing.

As for finding an image that is not protected by copyright, that's not easy. I've had no luck. Bmclaughlin9 (talk) 13:27, 22 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
