Hello, I'm Drchriswilliams. I noticed that you recently removed content from Jigsaw (company) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hi @Drchriswilliams, according to the revisions, it seems like the edit I made was a mistake. I did not realize I had removed a citation. Thank you for catching that. Jp.roq (talk) 13:51, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Machu Picchu Energy

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Machu Picchu Energy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Fram (talk) 15:24, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Fram, I can see why the Machu Picchu Energy could fall under unambiguous advertising because it is written about a company, but I used reliable 3rd party references and maintained (in my opinion) and neutral point of view. My goal was to simply state the facts about the company. The company is notable, being published by multiple news outlets and being recognized by other large corporations. Here are some references:
Packaging Digest
BevNet
New Hope Network
Food Business News
Agencia Peruana de Noticias
Food Navigator USA
The company has been selected for the UNFI UpNext Program and KeHe's Next Generation Innovation Showcase (also received KeHe's Golden Ticket). The company's notability is undeniable. Jp.roq (talk) 16:42, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, @Drmies. I'd love to explain as to why I should be unblocked. Firstly, I understand your reasoning behind your decision - which is the creation of the Machu Picchu Energy article. I am a new Wikipedia user and have read over the Wikipedia policies before creating the page. Furthermore, I also referenced other company pages that have been allowed to be published. I can see why that page could fall under unambiguous advertising because it is written about a company, but I used reliable 3rd party references and maintained (in my opinion) and neutral point of view. My goal was to simply state the facts about the company. The company is notable, being published by multiple news outlets and being recognized by other large corporations. Here are some references:

I understand that as a new user, I may have accidentally violated some policies, but I vow to amend those violations. If given the opportunity, I will not disrupt the integrity of Wikipedia and will abide by its policies. --- Jp.roq (talk) 16:37, 26 April 2022 (UTC)}}Reply
Equally undeniable is the existence of User:Carovidal97. Drmies (talk) 16:55, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
What do you mean by equally undeniable? Jp.roq (talk) 16:58, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
What Drmies means is that you likely operated under the account "Carovidal97". Wikipedia's policy on sockpuppetry disallows such abuse of multiple accounts, and if Carovidal97 is found to be you, your unblock request will be even harder, as they [unblocking administrators] won't trust you not to abuse multiple accounts. Thank you. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS — 17:00, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
That account was confirmed by the Checkuser tool. Drmies (talk) 17:06, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Drmies—Then so be it. This user's unblock request will now have to address the abuse of multiple accounts. At this point, Jp.roq, I do not see a return unless you take the standard offer. Thank you. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS — 17:08, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
My goal of joining Wikipedia was to simply learn about the community, learn how its managed, and hopefully participate. I listened to a podcast with founder if Wikipedia and I got very interested with the organization and how it was run. I also wanted to create the Machu Picchu Energy page because I believe in the company, its products, and its mission. I believe its notable and its impact in the communities is tangible.
@3PPYB6 and @Drmies, if you ultimately decide that my account is harmful to the integrity of Wikipedia, I will not argue and will accept the standard offer. BUT, I plead with you that my account does not affect the publishing of the Machu Picchu Energy article. What must I do to successfully publish the article according to Wikipedia policy? Jp.roq (talk) 17:16, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you @3PPYB6 for your response. Carovidal97 is not my account. @Drmies, how is it that you confirmed that? Jp.roq (talk) 17:09, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
There is a tool called the "CheckUser" tool. It is given to trusted people who need to deal with sockpuppets. What the tool does is it gives the IP addresses (or accounts if you are an IP user) associated with your account or IP respectively. "Confirmed" likely means that you and Carovidal97 operated under the exact same IP address, and, likely the same computer. If your IP address is shared, you will have to disclose that. Thank you. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS — 17:11, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Could you explain further what that means and how I would disclose that? Jp.roq (talk) 17:21, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand what you don't understand. That other account and yours operated from the same IP address, and likely the same computer. That is all there is to it. You created this account to promote a company, and then another account was created, likely by you, to help prevent deletion. I don't see how you can come back from that other than by accepting the standard offer. You can request an unblock, of course--good luck with it. Drmies (talk) 17:48, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm a new user and I'm learning how to navigate Wikipedia's policies. I never meant to disrupt the platform or its integrity. I'm simply trying to figure out how I can rejoin and also publish the page. What is the difference between the company page I tried to post versus Red Bull, Monster Energy, Warby Parker, and other companies?
I hope you are not frustrated with me, as I am only trying to learn how to do this correctly. With your guidance, I can avoid these mistakes in the future. Jp.roq (talk) 18:05, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm not frustrated, but I am going to spend my time on other things. Those articles, I hope they don't contain obviously promotional phrasing like this, "The company was born from our founder Bernardo Paiva’s passions for sharing the joy of being active outdoors and for helping children in need." And "OUR"? You can't write in first person. The whole thing reads like a (poor) press release. If you cannot recognize the difference between that draft and an encyclopedic article, then I don't think I can help you. And then there's the socking. Drmies (talk) 18:41, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate your feedback, although I don't think it was necessary to include the "(poor) press release" insult. If I have disrespected you, I apologize. If I rewrite it in an encyclopedic article, would I be able to have it published? Jp.roq (talk) 18:47, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sorry for the late reply(ies) as real-life events consumed me. As suggested by Drmies' comment above, I don't think they are going to respond any further. If you haven't already, I'd suggest reading WP:NPOV for the proper tone that is expected in an encyclopedic article. If your article has met WP:GNG and also meets NPOV, and also doesn't violate WP:BLP if it is a biography, then I'm sure your article could get published. Now, since you are blocked, you aren't able to edit any further than your talk page. Thanks. — 3PPYB6TALKCONTRIBS — 18:52, 26 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
