Tall buildings edit

I've left some comments at the FLC for tall Manc buildings. Hope they're of use! The Rambling Man (talk) 17:28, 6 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Photographs edit

There are some fantastic images of Manchester's skyline at this site. The bloke is a proffessional photographer, but might release one for free use if we ask him politely.

This search also throws up some interesting shots too. Might help the tallest building list??? -- Jza84 · (talk) 03:16, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and some nice shots at this page. All copyright sadly though. -- Jza84 · (talk) 13:51, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Quite!... I'm being a nerd and sifting through geograph.org.uk now too (which of course are ALL really free-to-use!). This might be a good shot for Architecture of Manchester (Old vs New), whilst this might be ok for the tallest structures list? The London Eye features on the London list you see. There are tons of shots of Beetham, but I quite like this one. This is a good shot to replace the static image in Manchester City Centre if you ask me!.... I'll keep searching.
Oh, and three supports now for the list! Excellent! -- Jza84 · (talk) 16:05, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
And this was where I knew a good shot of the skyline can be taken from in Higher Broughton. That shot is pretty poor (and outdated), but shows the potential. -- Jza84 · (talk) 16:07, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Gorgeous! - it's got a compatable licence for importing to Wikicommons. Think it'd be good for Rochdale and borough articles? -- Jza84 · (talk) 01:15, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Just spotted the work in progress tag. My apologies. -- Jza84 · (talk) 00:00, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
No problem. I wasn't aware there was another editor working on the article. It is good practice to copy the text you're about to save before you hit "save page", incase of edit conflicts or server problems however.
I also ammended the licencing of the Civil Justice Centre image at commons. The photograph was free to use but has to be displayed under the same Creative Commons licencing and credit the original author. -- Jza84 · (talk) 00:05, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Erm.... Flickr has quite verifiably had the image for over six months!... We don't want to piss off one of our best resources for photographs by misattributing the licencing do we? Nor do we want you blocked when he e-mails Wikicommons with an objection (Wikipedia is one the most visited sites online remember). I'm an Art and Design graduate and can really understand that it isn't nice to not recieve credit where it's due. Creditting the original author doesn't mean we can't display it either, just legally. I'd strongly recommend a revert. -- Jza84 · (talk) 00:31, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I think I need some sleep. It's a different photograph. I'm not on drugs honestly. A million apologies. As you say I meant well.... -- Jza84 · (talk) 00:40, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I know. I'm stupid and you are King.... I've had a hard day and it shows. -- Jza84 · (talk) 00:42, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
If it's any consolation, yours is actually much better. :) -- Jza84 · (talk) 00:44, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Manchester edit

No problem - go for it. Thought about that myself but other cities seem to use this strange maroon colour! -- Jza84 · (talk) 17:08, 22 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Look fine too me. Guess we'll just have to watch for feedback on that one. What did you think about the article's lead image? -- Jza84 · (talk) 17:27, 22 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

WP:GM edit

Per this. I'm starting to focus on other areas, and I haven't exactly been active there recently either. There'll be a replacement anyway - there always is. :) Regards, Rudget. 15:25, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's no problem, really. Rudget. 15:35, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

May I ask what the "total disgrace" is that you're referring to here? --Malleus Fatuorum (talk) 23:32, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Name change to Joshii! Cool. Rudget. 16:37, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks from Sussex... edit

Hi And-rew; thanks for the award! Yes, Manchester's spoken version was a bit of an epic, although I managed to do most of the actual speaking in one session. The editing was a different matter, though ... it always takes a while! I concentrate on doing spoken versions of Featured Articles, so Greater Manchester places are getting plenty of coverage :) You may have seen I've been doing a few minor things within the project itself recently, so I think I'll join up officially tonight (lunch hour is about to end now...). In particular, I'll try and help out with Greater Manchester in the short-term; and Stretford is on my list of future spoken articles...! Cheers, Hassocks5489 (talk) 13:58, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm coming.... edit

I just need the processing power a short time. MSN seems to drive my PC mad. I'm working on a really great map of GM with all the former districts! -- Jza84 · (talk) 22:32, 27 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
