Photo edit

Hi, I saw your question on TrueColour's talk page. The problem is that someone already uploaded a picture with the same (not very descriptive) name to English wikipedia. I suggest you upload the file to commons again, but with a better name, for instance with the name of the river and the town in it. You can nominate the old picture for deletion (see the toolbar on the left) afterwards. Markussep Talk 11:01, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

That's right, he/she uploaded it to English wikipedia only, not commons. Markussep Talk 11:13, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's because the system first looks in English wikipedia's files for an image, and if there isn't any with that name, it looks in commons. Markussep Talk 11:19, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
