Hello, Jones1018, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Ask questions

edit

Hi! I wanted to give you some responses to your ask questions:

How can I create another section in my article?

You can create a new section in your article by following the instructions here.

How can I create a table of contents?

The table of contents will create itself automatically, as you add sections. You can "force" a table of contents to show up, though, by adding __FORCETOC__. I've added it to the talk page so you can see what it looks like.

How do I create a context box?

This depends on what type of content box you're trying to make. If you're trying to add an infobox, the type of thing that is seen at the top of an article, the easiest way to do this would be to find an article on a similar topic and copy the infobox there. You will have to clear out a lot of content, but it's still one of the easier ways to accomplish this. Since you're writing on a person you can also copy the code at Template:Infobox person. I've actually went and added an infobox to your sandbox, just to kind of help out. If you need more fields than what is currently in the infobox in your draft, you can always add more by going into VisualEditor mode and when you click on the infobox, select the edit option. From there, scroll down to the bottom of the box that pops up. You will see an option for adding more information - you can click this and you can select content to add from a list of options.

With a general template, that's a bit more tricky and I'd have to know what exactly you want to add before I can really advise you further - let me know on my talk page if you want something other than the infobox or have any other questions. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:02, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
