Whole Brain Literacy, is an alternative approach to integral learning/ teaching process. [1]

Foundation premise;

From Humberto R. Maturana and Francisco J. Varela's (1987) “The Tree of Knowledge Biological Roots of Human Understanding”: “We do not see that we do not see. We do not see the “space” of the world; we live our field of vision. We do not see the “colors” of the world, we live our chromatic space.”

From Dudley Lynch's (1987) “Mother of all Minds” Leaping Free of an Outdated Human Nature”: “We do not see the world the way it is, we see it the way we think.” Our Education, Training and Development: Current Realities and Future ChallengesItalic textDeclining quality education of an increasing learning population, staggering shortage of classrooms, textbooks, instructional materials/resources, limited fiscal allocation, in a seemingly inefficient, ineffective utilization of available resources amidst tight economic situation at all levels in most sectors in the country. • Expanding realization that “the world is flat” with the advent of advanced ICT where modalities of thinking, learning, performing, relating, networking as well as the norms in doing business/service have been challenged and/or replaced by emerging paradigms, processes, and programs that cut across boundaries.

How can learners, teachers, school administrators/ leaders and the education system of the country deal with such complex and changing realities impinging the educational system today in the country? • How can they cope and do more of the same in the stark realities of “scarcity”? • How can they do things differently in tapping the “innate abundance” of the human potential in our midst? • Which choice do we see “open windows in our minds” to think and do things differently for efficient, effective, responsive and adaptive teaching/learning processes?
