Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. Armalite AR-50 edit

Well done for removing the previous copyvio stuff, but the article still needs major work:

  • What the hell does "veturbulencecoil" mean?
  • The article is still heavily promotional, you really, really need to tone that down, and enough people have warned you about that.
  • One of your references is in an odd format and thus displays inoorrectly.
  • 3rd-party, reliable sources are required: at present, the only sources present are either directly from Armalite, or are press-release style things.
  • I'm not sure the videos in the See Also belong there. Certainly not with the current wording. At the very most, they should be in External Links, but probably shouldn't be there at all.
  • There are too many pictures for the article at present: either put them into a gallery format, or prune them. They also need captions. In addition, one needs to go in the infobox.
I suggest you take pointers from other weapons articles and use them to improve the article. Lukeno94 (talk) 11:36, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

February 2013 edit

What exactly was copyright issues with the last edit. I rewrote the last entry in my own words. It was not the same as the copyvio flagged content at all. It was simply facts in my words that I know if this rifle. PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by JohnC76 (talkcontribs) 14:08, 8 February 2013‎

Dear JohnC76, it's great that you have volunteered to produce a new version of the article without any infringing text! This is much appreciated. However, you can't remove the copyright violation template from the article while the investigation is ongoing. Instead please put your new article at Talk:Armalite AR-50/Temp as instructed by the template and my message above. If you do this, the administrator or copyright clerk who processes the original copyright violation will replace the infringing text with your draft. —Psychonaut (talk) 14:14, 8 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Armalite AR-50, #2 edit

I came across a lot of material added without sources by 72.171.50.11 (talk · contribs), who was blocked because of his repeated additions of material that violated WP:No original research. I deleted it and you just restored all of it. Do you have sources for the restored material? And BTW, thanks for your other improvements! Felsic2 (talk) 17:48, 15 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

JohnC76, please see Talk:Armalite AR-50# Excessive unsourced material. It occurred to me that you might have added all that material back by mistake because you were trying to add those links to a prior version. If I don't hear back from you I'll assume that's the case and remove it again. Felsic2 (talk) 00:49, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

All I did was add those 2 links. Not sure what happened exactly, but I apologize if it caused a restoration of deleted content. JohnC76 (talk) 21:14, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for clarifying that. I went ahead and restored the 'fixed' edition, with your changes added. I'm afraid the image you uploaded probably won't be kept (see below) but it's part of an ABC News article I cited and linked, so readers can find it there. Between you and me, I laughed when I read the Italian Minister of Culture had said "The image of David, armed, offends and infringes the law." In the sculpture, David is holding a sling, which turned out to be a sufficiently deadly weapon to slay a giant. Felsic2 (talk) 16:10, 16 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
