Speedy deletion of Heinz Chapel Choir edit
A tag has been placed on Heinz Chapel Choir requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - I removed the speedy delete tag from the article, but it does assert or indicate some notability through the tours. Please see WP:MUSIC for the standards that apply. But for the article to be kept, it has to be not just asserted, or indicated, but shown, by 3rd party independent reliable published sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases). student newspapers will usually not do by themselves, as they are considered not truly independent of the subject, but reviews of the performances in newspapers elsewhere are what is needed here. the nearest analogous article I can immediately see is St. Olaf Choir -- but I see it too needs some references. It is perhaps accepted here because it is widely known to be notable (at least I know it is, because I know people from there). See what you can find. The university archives may help; the music department or the chapel staff probably can also. and there's the library--tell them you need this for Wikipedia-- all librarians know about us. For general information about what makes a good article, see WP:FIRST and the links you will find there. Good luck with it; I'd advise you to add this very quickly, before it gets nominated for regular deletion. I'll keep an eye on it. DGG (talk) 03:20, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
