Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:49, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am a worker for the company that works with KOREAZ. I thought that if we enlist KOREAZ on wikipedia, people could search it better on google and find out information about KOREAZ. I would like to change my user name and I won't upload it again since you mentioned that it sounds like an advertisement. Please unblock my account. Thank you. MOFA KOREAZ (talk) 01:38, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Wikipedia has no interest in enhancing search results for your company. Wikipedia is not a database of things that exist; this is an encyclopedia with criteria for inclusion, called notability- such as the definition of a notable company. Not every company merits a Wikipedia article. Please read conflict of interest and paid editing and tell us what edits you intend to make in the short term now that you know you won't be permitted to edit about your company at this time. 331dot (talk) 08:37, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

It was the first time editing an article on wikipedia and I didn't know how to seek for help. Now that I have done enough research, I would like to receive help from advanced wiki editors to make my future edits and I would like to use this account for personal use and not for a company. That's also why I had previously requested a change in username.

Decline reason:

Earlier, you said you planned to "enlist KOREAZ on wikipedia" so "people could search it better on google and find out information about KOREAZ". That's the opposite of "personal use and not for a company". This unblock request doesn't convince me you understand what you did wrong, nor does it meaningfully tell me what you plan to write about now. Yamla (talk) 12:16, 22 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I am working with MOFA, but I have read through your guidelines and feedbacks and I realized that I can't advertise on Wikipedia.

In my previous two requests of unblocking the account, I was trying to say that I won't be editing for KOREAZ nor any other company in the future.

I just want to change my username to Jj2780 and get this account unblocked so that the account doesn't represent a brand name anymore.

Please unblock this account and I will not edit about KOREAZ or any other company again.

Accept reason:

I am going to carry out the agreement described below. I will log your agreement with the restriction Z1720 discussed below at WP:AER. 331dot (talk) 10:29, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

OK, great. So what would you edit articles about if unblocked? Daniel Case (talk) 11:42, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Daniel Case I want to edit articles I had personal interests in, like articles related to Korean culture, literature or articles on celebrities. MOFA KOREAZ (talk) 2:10, 28 August 2023 (UTC) Please answer the following questions to help administrators evaluate your request:

  1. What is a conflict of interest, and what must editors do before editing pages in which they have a COI (WP:COIE will help).
  2. What is promotional language and why is it not allowed on Wikipedia? (WP:PROMO will help).
  3. What specific articles do you plan on editing if unblocked?
  4. If I unblock you, I would place a restriction on you from editing any page related to KOREAZ or adding any information about KOREAZ to any article on Wikipedia. Do you agree to this restriction?

I look forward to your answers. Z1720 (talk) 00:11, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

1. A conflict of interest is a topic that you are connected to, for example, your own company, family, etc.
Before editing pages with COI, users have to mention and disclose that topic on their own user page.
2. Because Wikipedia can't be used as a mean of promotion. It is an online enclopedia, which should have neutral information (and facts) about certain topics based on primary and secondary source evidences.
3. Jeon Somi (update the picture), An Yu-jin (her name is Yu-jin, but article keeps saying An) and Jo Sumi (she recently had another performance and I have sources as well!)
4. I agree! MOFA KOREAZ (talk) 08:48, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I will add that the standard policy in these cases is that you may appeal the topic ban after one year. 331dot (talk) 10:34, 8 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
