  Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. SmartSE (talk) 23:21, 8 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

  Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. -- Autopilot (talk) 23:37, 8 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

  Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. -- Autopilot (talk) 23:37, 8 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Gnome de plume (talk) 23:38, 8 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your autobiography

edit

Hi James, thanks for donating your illustrations to wikimedia commons. I've removed your biography from James Childs for several reasons: a) that article is about a different James Childs and if there was to be an article on you, it would need to go at a separate title, like James Childs (illustrator). b) unless your work has been discussed by the media, such as in newspapers, then we should not have an article on you as you will not meet our notability requirements for people. c) As this guideline explains, it is highly advised for people not to write about themselves on wikipedia, due to the difficulty in maintaining our core policies of maintaining a neutral point of view and ensuring all the information can be verified. If you have any questions, please reply below or drop me a note on my talk page. Thanks SmartSE (talk) 11:34, 9 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

James, I've explained above why the addition of your autobiography to the James Childs is inappropriate. Please do not continue to add the information, or I will have to request that you are blocked from editing as a promotional-only account. SmartSE (talk) 18:06, 10 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've blocked this account and 80.194.71.66 (talk · contribs) for 24 hours for disruption at the above, for repeatedly inserting the bio of someone else into the article, per WP:RfPP. If you'd like to ask how to create another biography when your block is up, please read WP:BLP or post your enquiry here. Many thanks, SlimVirgin talk|contribs 15:11, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've expanded the block to indefinite, because I just noticed that on top of trying to add your bio to an article, you were spamming one of your Google docs into various articles. Please use the links below if you want request an unblock. SlimVirgin talk|contribs 14:09, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abuse of editing privileges. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
