Multinational Force and Observers

edit

It is great to have someone with some current knowledge and photos from the MFO to add to the article. The pictures I contributed are all from 1989/90. - Ahunt (talk) 01:34, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

James: Thanks for the note. It is just good to see someone working on the MFO article! Great if you have more pictures and such. If we run out of space we can create a gallery of them similar to the badge gallery I started. I'll be happy to help out where I can! Mostly my knowledge and manuals are pretty old. I was with the Canadian Contingent Rotary Wing Aviation Unit 1989/90, which explains all the old scans of 35 mm photos of helicopters in the article. I have quite a number of edits on Wikipedia so perhaps where I can help you out the most is in formatting, refs and style stuff.
Incidentally if you want to add something to your user page I created this userbox a while ago. It is one way to connect with other MFO vets:

THANKS!

No problem! It looks good. If you want to see one way to organize a user page, although certainly not the only way, have a look at mine. I don't spend a lot of time on it, but I find that a presentable user page makes you look more unimpeachable as an editor! - Ahunt (talk) 21:20, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:FCflag.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:FCflag.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:08, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of "MFO Civilian Medal"

edit

The deletion of an article you created, MFO Civilian Medal, has been proposed for the following reason:

Medal woth no assertion of notability, and no indication that it is a government that issues it.

You are welcome to improve the article to meet Wikipedia's quality standards and remove the deletion notice from the article. You may also remove the notice if you disagree with the deletion, though in such cases, further discussion may take place at Articles for deletion, and the article may still be deleted if there is a consensus to do so.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy. You may wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:AVCOpatch.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 12:42, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:AVCOhuey.GIF. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

File source problem with File:TFS colors.JPG

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:TFS colors.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:49, 16 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. B (talk) 04:49, 16 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

File:TaskForceSinai.JPG missing description details

edit
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 01:21, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
