Speedy deletion nomination of Union Hand - Roasted Coffee

edit

Hello Jake Macloud,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Union Hand - Roasted Coffee for deletion, because it seems to be an promotion, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Barney the barney barney (talk) 18:04, 2 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jake. I have decided not to delete the article but have removed a lot of material that was either lacking references, or promotional. Content here should ideally be sourced to high-quality independent sources such as newspapers - there have been articles written about Union and if can try to help you write the article properly if you're interested. Hi SmartSE. Thank you for the advice I'll keep that in mind, and I appreciate the offer, I would welcome your help in this. I'm gathering some material with citations included and will be in touch at some point later today. Thanks. Jake Macloud (talk) 08:42, 4 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

No problem. I have a certain weakness when it comes to coffee-related articles, especially if they're related to Rwanda. Here are some references which should be useful: [1] [2] [3]. There are some more paywalled sources which I might be able to access and if I can I'll drop you a link to them. It might be best to start fresh with the article and bear in mind that we might not be able to find references to tell the whole story. You might want to link to Maraba coffee by the way. I checked factiva and picked out the best references. You can find copies here. SmartSE (talk) 11:21, 4 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello SmartSE. I've been out of the loop for awhile but I'm back and wanted to thank you for your help with these links. I greatly appreciate it. :) I'll be getting up to speed with all this over the next couple of days, and will contact you again with more sources to help expand this wiki further. Brilliant, thanks again! Jake Macloud (talk) 09:35, 10 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
