Hi there. I'm sorry about your article. However, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for promoting things. You need to have had exposure in some kind of good, reliable, third-party medium before getting an article written about your band on Wikipedia. It's an encyclopedia after all, not free webspace. If you're trying to write a website, then I'd suggest you actually register a domain and get a hosting company. I'm afraid I don't honestly think that an article on your group would stay on Wikipedia at present. It would need to contain some information (a reasonable amount of it) that was verifiable from reliable, third-party source and there doesn't seem to be any available at present. -Splash^talk 23:03, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

No, generally, myspace is not considered reliable because it does not have any 'peer review' process making sure that the information on it is correct. Read through those two links in my last message and WP:MUSIC to see the kinds of things I mean. Also note that most articles on groups/bands/etc need to establish the 'notability' of their subject, for more info on which see Wikipedia:Importance. You'd need basically to attract attention from mainstream music media with a reputation as being reliable, authoritative or similar, or to have released a couple of proper albums on a non-minor label. As you are a very new group, you'd probably be unlikely to meet those standards until you've been around for some time. Very new groups do not generally get articles on Wikipedia, unless there is something extraordinary about them that has made the media sit up and take notice. -Splash^talk 23:14, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

creating pages

Basically, pages need to be about things that are notable, and that have been written about in books/newspapers etc. See WP:N for guidelines for a set of these guidelines (see the sidebar in the upper right corner). If all you have is personal knowledge though, and there's no source to cite, then that's probably not going to be a good article. Sorry. --W.marsh 23:24, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

I just read an edit you made here [1] that is beyond the boundry of civil discussion. Although I was not involved in the debate as to the merits of the article that was being discussed for continued inclusion in the project, I feel very strongly that you should click on this blue link --> WP:MUSIC, read it thouroghly, and then formulate an argument that your band meets its criteria in any part of those parameters. If you can, take that article here and have some other involved debate its merits. If it passes another debate, it's in. If not, dude, you should write a personal apology to every one of the editors you insulted on that Wikipedia talk page. It would be the right thing to do, and I hope you realize this.

In the interm, I warn you not to post similar material to other Wikipedia pages. You will be blocked from editing for escalating periods of time for individual acts of vandalism. Be cool, take the high road in your debates within Wikipedia spaces, and you will be recognized for your good citizenship. There are many thousands of articles on rock bands and music in general here in Wikipedia, and you can help this project, if you really want too. Doing the right thing

I appreciate that you are contrite about the unfortunate comments directed by a third party. Incidents like these illustrate the importance of having a secure password for your WP user account. If you have not already done so, I suggest you take steps to secure your password(s). Let me thank you for establishing a user name. You have indicated that you would like to construct a personalized user page. I did a slight modification earlier that (IMO) improved the text layout somewhat> When you edit pages, indenting new paragraphs has the effect of separating the text into a (sometimes huge) separate box. I don't know why, or if this effect is a result of the various programs I use to retrieve Wikipedia, but that is what I fixed on your page. There is much debate about what and what is not appropriate on individual user pages, but one thing you can be sure of is, be very definate about the copy right status of any images or other materials you choose to display. Be civil and moderate in your commentary. I personally can be rather opinionated, and I have left a stern message to certain undesireable elements within Wikipedia on my own talk page, but that is a reaction to, and explanation towards problematic editors who I may have to block from editing (part of my function as an administrator).
