Hey, Thank you for the warm welcome jafcbs

June 2010 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 17:05, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

MrOllie I added an external link to a course on Calculating Value at Risk that walks through the three methods, an example, a case based on the petrochemical industry and caveats and qualifications to the VaR process. Would it be more appropriate as a reference link. Please advise. jafcbs (talk) 17:37, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

It would be more appropriate if you did not add links to sites you are affiliated with in any capacity. - MrOllie (talk) 17:45, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
If you would please take a look at the links you have removed the content is not available on any free or public sites. If you would also take a look at the articles where the links were removed from they are all technical topics with limited free-for-all-access sources and limited contributions from the wiki community over the last two years. Kindly find a public source that teaches you how to price a commodity linked note or a range accrual note and add it as a replacement to the links you have just removed.jafcbs (talk) 18:11, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Looked through your archive and realized that you must have marked me as a Single Purpose Editor given my profile. Unfortunately my primary interest is Risk and Treasury Management, which are subjects that I write and teach about. Can't help that. jafcbs (talk) 18:29, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
You are of course welcome to write about your primary interest and cite reliable, independently published sources, but you should not be promoting books you have written or your personal web sites. Thanks. - MrOllie (talk) 18:53, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Interest rate-linked note for deletion edit

A discussion has begun about whether the article Interest rate-linked note, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Interest rate-linked note until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Beeblebrox (talk) 04:02, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
