- Thank you very much for your welcome! I have just posted a question/comment on your talk page. Jadmath (talk) 19:16, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- FYI, I've just sent this to ActivelyDisinterested:
- The home page on this site is very much out of date. Is it possible to find someone on this site who would add new material if I provide the citations and links (such as the SCHEV award I attempted in vain to add before!)? I don't have the time or knowledge to do this myself. If that's not possible, I'll just leave things as they are.
- (Thank you for attempting to help me, I dream of horses!)

Hi Jadmath. I'm guessing that you have a link to the subject of the John A. Adam (mathematician) article. I suggest you read WP:COI on how to deal with this issue. Separately I've reverted you're changes as they were unreferenced, WP:REFB explains the basics of how referencing works on Wikipedia. Specifically nothing should be added to a biography of a living person that does not have a reference, see the policy page WP:BLP for details. - LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 20:40, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- OK, thank you. Jadmath (talk) 16:16, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
- Is it possible to remove the IPS address for my edits on 7/2/22, especially since they were removed! Jadmath (talk) 16:27, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
- That would have to be done by the oversight team, you can contact them with this form. - LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 18:55, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
- Or you can email them at oversight-en-wp@wikipedia.org. - LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 18:56, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
- @ActivelyDisinterested I've tried to direct them to Category:Wikipedia administrators willing to handle RevisionDelete requests on my talk page. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 19:53, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you - I just did.

- In general you should have a look at {{Request edit}}. Basically you should create a new section of the talk page of the article, then add {{request edit}} followed by what changes you suggest and the citations for the changes. The Request edit template will add the request to the list of all such requests, from there someone will pick it up and make the changes they determine to be correct. In this case if you add the details to the talk page I'll look them over, it should be on the page so there is a record of the request. - LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 19:41, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you SO much, this is very helpful. It will be a while before I can get to this, but I feel a lot more comfortable given what you have told me. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had a page in the first place, so any "legal" edits will be the icing on the cake! Jadmath (talk) 19:46, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- BTW, it appears that my IP address has been removed in response to my request. Thank you again for providing the information I needed to get this done.

- Just to let you know that I've finally been able to get updated links for the editors - I know that you are not the primary person to contact but I wanted to run them by you first. You said I had to submit a form with these details?
- 1. SCHEV award details (2007 is the year I received an award): https://www.odu.edu/acadaffairs/faculty-awards/schev-outstanding-faculty-award#tab19=1&done1612907281342
- 2. Updated home page/website: https://fs.wp.odu.edu/jadam/ Jadmath (talk) 18:52, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hello again. You need to create a new section on the articles talk page, there's a button at the top of the page that say "New section". Add a subject in the header, "edit request" will do, and then add {{Request edit}} at the top of the description part. Under that add details of what changes you would like to be made, e.g. update website to... and add award details...
- You may be asked to show the award is noteworthy, although from a quick glance that seems to be the case. Just ask if you have an questions, either here or on my talk page. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 20:37, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- This is extremely helpful - again, thank you very much for your fast responses! Jadmath (talk) 20:50, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- You were in luck, I was just reading an article and saw the notification! -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 20:56, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- It seems complicated to request an edit. I got in a bit of a mess when I tried. Would it be possible to contact the person who set up the Wikipedia page for me and request it be done that way? Jadmath (talk) 16:39, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- No one editor owns any particular article, and all communication is meant to be in open view. I can setup the request for you, it just means I'll have to get another editor to decide and action any changes. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 17:00, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- That is very helpful of you, I appreciate that. Do you need any more information beyond the links I sent earlier. Jadmath (talk) 19:41, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
- I've made the request, see Talk:John A. Adam (mathematician)#Edit request made on behalf of User:Jadmath. When someone answers it they may ask addition questions. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 12:45, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, I understand. The updated web page is the most important of the two requests for edits. Jadmath (talk) 13:53, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- All the changes have been done. If you need any further help, please just drop a message on my talk page. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested ∆transmissions∆ °co-ords° 21:46, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
- That was fast! It looks good. Thank you very much for overseeing this on my behalf. Jadmath (talk) 13:31, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
